Most of us love animals. We believe that animals shouldn't be harmed either. And yet, when it comes to taking some proper action, we fall short. Some people only care about animals that are traditionally seen as pets while ignoring the rights of animals that are not.

So, it's good to know that there are people with will and means out there, looking out for them. One of those people is Tracy Stewart.

Tracy Stewart is the founder of Moomah Magazine, an animal activist, and the author of "Do Unto Animals", a book about animal wellbeing. Oh, and she also owns the New Jersey branch farm of Farm Sanctuary and she's studying to become a vet technician.

Her husband Jon is a comedian, a former host of the "Daily Show" and together, these two have helped numerous animals.

Their journey started in 2015 when they decided to turn their farm into a sanctuary for farm animals, but helping them has always been a dream of Tracy's. They got associated with Farm Sanctuary, an advocacy group for abused animals, and because of this, they got even more space for all their furry friends.

They save all sorts of animals - the ones that escape captivity, get hurt, or are left abandoned. Their family includes pigs, sheep, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, cows, chickens, goats, and many more. All of these animals are well taken care of and they receive everything they need from these kind people.

The best part is that they get tons of space and love, something all animals are lacking when locked up. They get to run around and breathe fresh air.

Considering the conditions they often lived in, this is a true blessing.

Tracy and Jon have often responded after an emergency call to help save the animals that escape slaughterhouses. For example, they saved a goat in NYC that escaped one such shameful establishment. It had an ear infection from the tag, a skin condition, and overgrown hooves.

They also helped save two goats that were found wandering the subway.

Their sanctuary will not only be there for all animals in need but it will also be used to grow sustainable food and teach people how to properly care for animals. It's not yet open to the public or accepting volunteers, but they are working towards that.

In the meantime, Tracy has asked people to help them and thousands of animals stuck in captivity by reducing their meat intake or even stopping it completely, if possible. It has been proven numerous times that farm animals we use for food are complex beings with feelings and not just our commodity.

So, take a lesson from Tracy and be kinder to animals, even if just a little bit.
