‘you’ Season 2 Coming To Netflix On December 30, 2019

The second season of Netflix's hit, You, will air on December 30, and the show will be 'scarier and gorier' than anything in Season 1.

When You hit Netflix, the creepy show had fan hooked as they followed a bookshop manager, Penn Badgely seduces his writing student and left a pile of corpses in his wake.

While fans didn't expect the show to have a happy ending for Penn Badgely, there was still some good news for viewers, as the terrifying thriller got renewed for the second season.

As we eagerly wait for the next installment of this horrifying tale, creators have revealed some exciting news.

Showrunner and co-creator, Sera Gamble, has announced the expected release date for You's second season, and everyone on the internet is pretty excited.

We're now counting weeks!

The first installment of You was released on December 26, last year

In Season 1, Joe becomes obsessed with a writing student, called Guinevere Beck, and he tries every means to win her affection.

Some of Joe's actions to pursue her were terrifying. He intensely investigates Beck's social media accounts, a habit that turned into full-blown stalking.

At the end of the show, not only were Beck's closest acquaintances killed, but she also had to go. She already knew Joe's horrifying habits.

Season two of the show has a change of scenery

Speaking to LADbible, Gamble said:

"At least one scene comes to mind that's gorier and scarier than anything we had in season one."

"Joe is new to Los Angeles, fully intending to start over a new leaf and never being forced to do bad things again."

"You will know it when you see it," Gamble added. "Episode two of the season has my single favorite shot that I have been a part of in my entire career."

"My career is full of blood and gore and monsters. It's also beautifully shot, and the director who shot the second episode lavished a lot of love. Joe is forced to do something he really doesn't want to do."

"Joe is always trying to be a good guy. But yet somehow he's finding himself in these thriller, horror kind of situations. It's terrible for him, but I think it's going to be so much fun for the audience."

And there's more to come

Speaking about a new character, Love Quinn will be played by Victoria Pedretti. You know her from Haunting of Hill House, and Gamble said she is "very different from Beck."

Another character in Season 2 is Doctor Nicky, who is now in prison for murder.
