You Don't Have To Do These 8 Things For Anyone (Although You Think You Should)

You Don’t Have To Do These 8 Things For Anyone (although You Think You Should)

Most people enjoy extending a helping hand to anyone in need, and it's usually a desirable trait in any decent human being. But people who demand you do them favors are usually crossing the line by taking advantage of our willingness to help.

This has to change and here are things you should allow no one to force you into.

1. What Makes You Uncomfortable

If someone is demanding something that doesn't make you feel good, you have the right to say no to it. We all have values, and they should be respected.

Still, don't be a jerk about it. Reject the request in a polite and respectful manner so you don't hurt the person unnecessarily.

2. Accepting Demands To Try Something New

After all those years in this world, you have a pretty good idea of what you like or don't like. But there are still people who think they know what's best for you and force you to do things you feel you will not like.

You can turn down such offers because you have no obligation to do something you don't like. If they can't handle that, then that's not your problem.

3. Apologizing

You will often do things that other people might not agree with, and you don't have to be sorry if you firmly believe you did the right thing. If that changes, then you can apologize, but if not, you don't have to.

It's okay to have beliefs, convictions and decisions that don't depend on anyone.

4. Solving Someone's Problems

It's okay if you want to go all out and help someone. Totally fine.

However, no one has the right to demand that you solve their problems.

If someone is overwhelming you with their issues, you have a right to step back. You should have boundaries, and they should be respected.

5. Loving A Certain Person

People are so judgmental, and they will even try to budge into your love life. Some will tell you have married the wrong race, gender, or social class.

But while they might have the right to have an opinion about such matters, they have no right to force you to do what they approve. You should love whoever you want with no one questioning you.

6. Changing For Anyone

Some people expect that you will change for them, which is not right. You are who you are, and your personality should not be dictated by anyone.

You are good enough as you are, and you should change yourself if you want to without being forced into it by anyone. So, if you don't want to change, don't.

7. Saying "Yes" When You Don't Want To

When you feel the answer is "no," you don't owe anyone a "yes." Even if that might hurt them, they should understand that you have no obligation to agree with them.

If you don't want to take that trip, have someone over as a guest, or do anything else, then say it because you don't owe anyone a "yes."

8. Spending Your Time As They Wish

Your time is precious, and people should not waste it as they like. You should be comfortable with the way you spend your time, with no obligations to anyone.

In this life, there will be people who expect you to live life on their terms. Regardless of how close you are to them, make sure they don't force you to do these 8 things.
