There is a lovely and rustic cottage that looks just like the Gryffindor common room, and it can be rented for a magical stay. What’s more, you can stay there with your fellow Potterheads! North Shire – a Place That Oozes With Magical Vibes It is called North Shire and can be found in North Yorkshire, England. The cottage consists of a six-bed dormitory room that will make you feel like you’ve stepped through Diagon Alley. The cottage’s gorgeous bedroom shows off with the popular Gryffindor house colors – red and gold. The beds are all charming four-posters, and they even have luxurious curtains for privacy. Also, there is a massive stone fireplace that crackles elegantly with warm fires during visitors’ stays. The comfortable red sofas are perfect for relaxing in front of the fire with your favorite Harry Potter book. Picturesque Bathroom A bathroom is a lovely place that will make you forget that you are actually a Muggle. In it, you will find gorgeous stained glass windows that depict a beautiful mermaid. Certainly, fans will notice that this is a nod to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For those who don’t remember, it was in this book/movie that Harry got to bath in the prefects’ ornate bathroom. The North Shire cottage’s bathroom sinks look like golden shells and are a fantastic touch that adds to its charm. Butterbeer, anyone? North Shire’s kitchen is equipped with anything you might need during your visit. This includes everything required to whip up your own butterbeer. Overall, this sounds like a wonderful place to spend a weekend. You’d expect to pay a fortune for this kind of magical escape, right? However, this wonderful escape from reality is affordable. You don’t have to be as loaded as Harry to book a few nights at the cottage. The £50 ($64) per night per person fee is based on six people spending their time there. Other Attractions The Gryffindor-inspired cottage isn’t all there is to North Shire’s properties. There is a Lord of The Rings-themed hobbit house aptly called Shire House as well, for example. Carol Cavendish, the owner of this wonderland, says the lockdown gave her the chance to work on the venue. She hopes the place will help people escape from the reality of the coronavirus pandemic.We’d say she’s doing a great job of making people forget and enjoy time in a place right out of a fantasy.
