You are being offered $1,000 to watch Marvel movies in a publicized movie marathon.
Are you up for this offer? If so, then be ready to sit through all Marvel movies in one go before Avengers: Endgame hit the cinemas and get $1,000 in cash.
That is what a TV company is willing to offer to anyone willing to participate. Just for the record, Marvel has previously released 20 movies.
Too many movies? I don't suppose that will be a deal-breaker for many people, maybe just the icing on the cake. Heck, I was even willing to throw my hat in the ring, but after some consideration, I thought I was better off passing it on to a more deserving candidate.
And I am guessing that if you are in a similar position, you probably know a die-hard sci-fi fanatic who would kill for a chance to pocket this easy cash.
And if I may say so, it is not just the cash that is on the line here.
The winner will also walk away with other rewards from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Examples here include Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet mug, films on Blu-Ray, an Iron Man snuggie (not crazy about this one), and even a Captain America popcorn popper.
If this deal sounds too good to be true, it's because you don't have all the facts yet.
You see, not any lazy couch potato with a head full of superhero film facts can win this award. Sure, you will need to know as much as possible about the Marvel Universe and its cinematic releases to better your chances.
But you will also need to have an "active, outgoing, social media personality". You will also have to chronicle your marathon online through Twitter. One other thing – you have to be over 18 and living in America. This latter set of requirements obviously weeds out many potential candidates.
Otherwise, the way this marathon is broken down is pretty enticing. For instance, you will not have to watch every Spiderman film ever made. And quite frankly, that would be a drag. Thoughtfully, this challenge, if you can even consider it that, comes down to three main phases.
During the first phase of the marathon, you will have to sit through Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Thor (2011), and The Avengers (2012).
Once you get through the first phase, you will then have to watch Thor: The Dark World (2013), Iron Man 3 (2013), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Ant-Man 2015), and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
In the final phase, you will have to watch these films: Doctor Strange (2016), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Spider-Man: Homecoming 2017), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Black Panther (2018), and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
Sounds good, right? Of course, it does, you irredeemable movie buff. Then go ahead and put in your application, nice goodies await you at the end of a thrilling movie-watching experience.
