A historic pub in London has been granted a nudist license. You can drink completely naked, and it'll be hosting naked nights.
Norman's Coach & Horses pub was among the first vegan-friendly boozing establishment in London.
But now, it has received a new title, the city's only nudist bar.'
So, if drinking several shots of tequila makes you want to rip your clothes off and walk naked as you enjoy more booze with your friends, you got to visit this Soho institution.
Although the pub is among the oldest drinking spots in London, first opened in 1847, it has adopted more innovative approaches to sustain its patrons and to keep the business at the peak.
The Coach & Horses longtime landlord, Alastair Choat, revealed that he's devoted to remaining independent and unique throughout London, despite the rise in franchising in the neighborhood.
Choat told CNN:
"There is this—in times of real need and despair and trying to defend something of value—great British tradition of stripping off."
The nudist license allows Coach & Horses patrons and the pub's employees to hang out completely naked.
However, you can't show up at the pub during the day without clothes. The exception of a nudity license is that you shouldn't show up naked in the daylight.
Nudity will only be allowed during consensual, scheduled nights, and on specific occasions.
The landlord said:
"You do have to have the right staff on because obviously, the team has to be comfortable with it."
"But to be honest with you, when you do these things, after 10, 15, 20 minutes no one notices anymore. It's a bit like you go to a pub where there's a band playing. You're not interested in it, after a while it's just background music."
"If everyone's naked it's going to be hilarious, it will be very funny."
The Coach & Horses pub also launched a charity calendar, 'The Beauty and the Beasts of Soho,' costing $25 (£20). It features the pub's regulars completely naked.
The nude charity calendar aims to raise money for the homeless in St. Mungo's.
And after the calendar was launched, Choat was inundated with countless calls from naturists throughout the world, asking whether the pub was now welcoming nudists.
"We are going to be planning, in June, a nude night."
"[We] haven't got the exact date yet, but that's what's going be happening — so that all these people phoning up wanting to get naked and have a pint in the center of Soho will be able to do so."
The Coach & Horses isn't London's first nudity spot. In 2016, a naked restaurant was opened. It was so popular that there were 46,000 naturists on the waiting list.
