Nobel Prize winner, Bob Dylan, is being sued for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl back in 1965.
The woman that goes by the initials J.C. filed a lawsuit in New York City. At the time of this alleged event, she was 12, while Dylan was 24.
J.C. Explains Bob Dylan’s Predatory Behaviour
According to the lawsuit J.C. filed, the musician first was friendly and established an “emotional connection” with her. It is, basically, what grooming looks like.
J.C.’s lawsuit alleges that the rock star “exploited his status as a musician to provide [her] with alcohol and drugs and sexually abuse her multiple times.” Additionally, Dylan used threats of physical violence.
These events took place in Dylan’s apartment in New York’s Chelsea Hotel in April and May 1965. The accuser’s name will remain hidden for safety reasons, and we only know that she lives in Connecticut.
The accuser stated she suffered “severe psychological damage and emotional trauma” and asks for an undisclosed amount of damages.
Bob Dylan Was Allegedly In The UK At The Time
However, Dylan denies any claims of abuse.
Dylan’s spokesman told the press:
“The 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended”.
Dylan, 80, was allegedly in the UK at the time of the alleged assaults.
However, the case is now in the hands of the New York Supreme Court under the state’s Child Victims Act.
Daniel Isaacs, J.C.’s lawyer, commented:
“Nothing other than the complaint speaks for itself, and we shall prove our allegations in a court of law.”
Considering that it has been almost 60 years, proving an assault will be incredibly difficult. And though Dylan is one of the most beloved artists in the world, we have to keep our minds open.
After all, accusing someone of repeatedly sexually assaulting a child is a serious allegation, and we will respect both sides by waiting for further revelations.
