Remember the gorilla glue lady? She finally had to go to the hospital to have the glue removed. Substituting gorilla glue for hairspray after running out of the latter turned out to be a really bad decision. It did one good thing though – made Tessica Brown and even gorilla glue popular.
After one month of trying to remove the glue using DIY methods, Tessica Brown admitted herself to the hospital. Coconut oil and tea tree oil did not work the expected magic. She had to go to St. Bernard Parish Hospital, Chalmette to try to get the adhesive off.
According to her, the hair was so tight against her scalp that she could not wash or shave it off.
How She Got Herself In The Situation
This video on TikTok which garnered the world’s attention and has been viewed over 15 million times, shows Tessica explaining why her hair looks brand new. She said:
“Hey y’all. For those of you that know me know that my hair has been like this for about a month now. It is not by choice. No, it’s not by choice.”
While talking, she pats her hair to let viewers see just what has become of her hair after using Gorilla Glue on it. The adhesive practically made a helmet of her hair.
Tessica told her followers:
“When I do my hair, I like to finish it off with a little Got2b Glued spray, you know, just to keep it in place. Well, I did not have any more Got2b Glue spray, so I used this: Gorilla Glue spray. Bad, bad, bad idea. My hair, it don’t move. You hear what I’m telling you? It. Don’t. Move.”
She vehemently warns her viewers against trying what she did.
Gorilla Glue responded to her statement with the advice of their own. They told TMZ: “The less aggressive solvent for her hair/scalp would be rubbing alcohol to try and saturate her hair and then gently comb it out and shampoo.”
Since Jessica’s hair had been stuck for some time, the company went on to say that it is most likely that her hair was fractured at the root. They also added that their staff “certainly hope for the best.”
A Follow-up Video
Many suggested that she use a shampoo and try washing it off. She thus made a follow-up video of her washing her hair with a generous amount of shampoo and how it was not helping matters at all.
In a very emotional voice, you can hear her saying: “Look, you wipe it off, and nothing happens. Like, this is the life I’m living at the moment.”
Well, update shows that the glue is finally off, a feat that has made the responsible surgeon just as popular.
