Suzie Cheikho faced dismissal after her supervisor tracked her work progress.

A woman who gained attention last year when her employer monitored her remote work with keystroke technology now fears she may struggle to find new job opportunities.

After dedicating 18 years to Insurance Australia Group, Cheikho was let go from her position in February 2023.

Despite her efforts to contest the dismissal, her claim for unfair treatment against IAG was unsuccessful.

In August of the previous year, it was deemed that the company had valid grounds for her termination due to misconduct.

The Fair Work Commission (FWC) in Australia determined that Cheikho failed to meet deadlines, missed meetings, and was often unreachable.

Furthermore, her failure to complete a specific task resulted in penalties for her employer.

Cheikho had also received a warning several months prior, in November 2022.

So, how did the company monitor Cheikho's productivity while she worked from home?

Through the use of keystroke technology, the company tracked her work activity for 49 days between October and December 2022.

The results did not favor Cheikho.

During the monitoring period, it was revealed that she began her work late on 47 days and ended early on 29 days.

But there's more. It was also found that Cheikho didn't work at all on four of those days, and even on the days she did work, her keyboard activity was relatively low.

On average, she pressed her keyboard 54 times per hour while under observation.

Following widespread attention to her case, Cheikho shared her worries about future job prospects.

"It's embarrassing that this story has gone viral - nobody is going to hire me," she expressed.

"In 18 years of work there, I only ever got one warning."

When questioned about the accuracy of the work activity tracked during her remote work, Cheikho expressed skepticism regarding the data from the keystroke technology. She informed her managers that she had 'never not worked'.

Since the incident garnered public attention last year, Cheikho revealed that she had been experiencing harassment.

"This has never happened to me before, and for what?" she shared in a now-deleted TikTok clip.

"It's something very emotional and very private; I never talked about it on social media."

"I'm literally getting harassed through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok. What do you want me to do? I can't get a f**king job."
