Woman Discovered She First Met Husband On Family Holiday When She Was Six

Marriage is a dream for many, and life couldn't be better for those lucky people who marry the love of their lives.

It's fascinating to think that happily married couples started as strangers. But what if we told you that a married couple recently discovered that the first time they met is way further back than they even realized?

A married woman had recently discovered that she and her husband met for the first time on a family holiday when she was only 6-years-old, and without even realizing it!

Meet Heidi and Ed Savitt, the happy couple who has been married since 2016. They were both studying at the University of Newcastle in the north of England when they met.

And they both lived in the same student house. In 2011, Ed tracked Heidi down on Facebook, hoping to learn from her how to operate a washing machine.

Then she decided to help him out, simply because she thought "he was hot." Fair enough, Heidi.

Heidi once saw Ed on a night out and she recalled thinking that he was "gorgeous" and "just amazing." Then she was courageous enough to go and talk to him.

And guess what? The beautiful pair immediately clicked. They had a wonderful first date in Pizza Express, and from that point on, they became inseparable.

After a few years of dating, the love birds bought a flat together. Eventually, though, in 2015, Ed had a special question for Heidi. Yes, it was the day he'd propose to her.

Heidi recalls the day Ed proposed, "Afterwards we went home and he had organized a surprise engagement party. It was wonderful," she said.

And finally, in 2016, the pair tied the knot, which would hopefully last forever. It was one of the most wonderful days for them. They even had an amazing honeymoon in the Maldives.

The story already seems to be perfect, nothing can get better, right?

Let's see about that. A few months later, they were having a nice dinner at Heidi's mom's house when they discovered something unbelievable…

Heidi's mom, Kay, recalled one family holiday in 1997 when they visited a Bodrum, Turkey, where Heidi had a friend named Ed. A couple of weeks later, Kay sent an adorable picture of Heidi with her new friend during this holiday, and he was the same Ed who planned to marry her.

"She sent me a picture in the post of him and it was my Ed. I was astonished when I saw the picture. I just yelled, 'Mom – you know who that is!' I was so shocked I had to lie down. Ed was amazed too… we couldn't believe it." Heidi said.

Ed, a coffee shop owner, was also astonished. "I'm not one to believe in miracles," he said, "the story changed my life."

That picture, according to Heidi, wasn't the only one they took together. "From the photos [it looks like] we had been spending an awful lot of time together while we were on holiday. He told his parents and they dug out images of him on the same holiday," she said.

"He looks different, whereas I look the same. I remember being in the kids club. That's where I must have met him and setting up a nail varnish stall outside with my sisters. I think we painted Ed's nails."

They recreated their old picture together, though Heidi admits she can't remember meeting Ed that day.

The couple finally married in 2016, and of course, the meeting that day in Turkey was the hot topic at their wedding ceremony.

Heidi says that her husband Ed enjoys telling people how they met twice, and naturally, they're in love with Bodrum and have since been back to see the place where their old relationship first began.

We can't think of a more meant-to-be couple, can we?
