Susana Soares, a Brazilian hairdresser, found herself unable to book a dog grooming appointment due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing measures. When she noticed that her pet Yorkshire terrier, Mano, had hair covering his eyes, she decided to cut his hair herself at home. However, things did not go as smoothly as she had hoped.
1. The Hair Was Getting In His Eyes!
As someone who also owns a Yorkshire terrier, I can relate to the challenges of keeping their hair from covering their eyes. Susana was just trying to do what was best for Mano and help him see more clearly. Despite her best intentions, the haircut ended up giving Mano a new set of bangs.
2. A Dog With Bangs! That's Hilarious!
One look at the photos will tell you just how well the haircut turned out! This look would work incredibly well on a human, but I can't say I've ever seen a dog with bangs, that's for sure. Susana found it hilarious, telling The Dodo that she "fell on the floor laughing" when she saw the finished result. I can't say I blame her!
3. Mano Doesn't Know Any Different Anyway
According to Susana, Mano is happy with his haircut because it allows him to see clearly and eliminates the annoyance of long hair. While it may not be the most fashionable look among dogs, it serves a practical purpose and is a win-win situation for Mano.
4. Susana Will Be Taking Him To The Groomer Moving Forward
She may be skilled with scissors and give excellent haircuts to her human clients, but at-home dog grooming is not her forte. Therefore, the next time Mano needs a haircut, he will visit a professional. It was worth a try, though!
