Taylor Schabusiness is accused of one of the most disturbing crimes in the county. The 24-year old Wisconsin mom is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and mutilation of a corpse.
She is also accused of third-degree sexual assault. According to the prosecutor, the horrid act was carried out after the victim's death.
Schabusiness told the police about the terrifying murder and revealed where she hid the body parts.
On February 23, a woman called Green bay police, claiming that she had found her 25-year old son's severed head in a bucket.
The mother had woken up in the middle of the night by a sound at the door. She thought it was her son leaving. She went downstairs to check on a light that had been left on. That was when she made the terrible discovery.
When the officers went to investigate the site, they found the head as well as a male organ in the bucket the mother had described.
After further investigation, a mattress surrounded by dried blood and the torso of a male body was found at the scene.
When the officers heard that Schabusiness might have been the last to see the victim alive, they went directly to her home.
According to the officers, they found Schabusiness in her home, dressed in clothes covered in blood. She was taken into custody, and her van was searched.
Additional body parts were found in a crockpot box in the vehicle, including severed legs. According to the complaint, when the police asked her what had happened, she answered:
"That is a good question."
She then told the investigators that she had been together with the victim the whole day. They had been smoking methamphetamine, and when they arrived at his mother's home, they also had sex.
Schabusiness continued and told the authorities that she blacked out during the intercourse. She went crazy and started strangling her partner with a chain while he was lying facedown and she was sitting on top of him.
She said that she enjoyed choking him and did not want to stop. Not even when his face turned purple, and he started coughing blood. She still claimed she had not meant to kill him.
She went on and commented that the police were "going to have fun trying to find all of the organs."
The officials say that Schabusiness gave information regarding the whereabouts of the body parts, including the legs in the van and the head in the bucket.
The complaint said:
"Schabusiness stated she used knives that she obtained from the kitchen of the residence and that a bread knife worked the best because of the serrated blade. Schabusiness stated the knives should be in a black bag along with the body parts in the basement."
The complaint continued:
"Schabusiness made the comment that at one point, she did get paranoid and lazy and that she thought it was the 'dope' that was making her paranoid. Schabusiness stated the plan was for her to bring all of the body parts with her but she got lazy and only ended up putting the leg/foot in the van and she forgot the head."
Finally, she admitted to having performed sexual acts on the victim's body after the time of his death. This went on for 2-3 hours.
Assistant District Attorney Caleb Saunders commented:
"I think the facts alleged are extremely concerning and disturbing and go to the violent nature and grave nature of the offense."
Schabusiness was supposed to be wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet at the time due to a probation period, but she had managed to remove the bracelet.
She now remains in custody at the Brown County Jail, and the bail was set at $2 million. She appeared in Brown County Court on Tuesday, and she will be back in court later this month.
