A woman who has been unsuccessful in her attempts to conceive shared a horrifying development in her journey on a Reddit post.
The wife was devastated and taken aback when her husband proposed having sexual relations with her sister to impregnate her, owing to the couple's infertility struggles.
An individual, aged 34, who remains anonymous, shared on Reddit that both she and her 37-year-old partner have been facing difficulties in conceiving.
The couple opted to investigate surrogacy and were thrilled when the woman's 30-year-old sister offered to be the surrogate and carry the baby.
Nonetheless, the enthusiasm of the Reddit user was quickly replaced with disillusionment when her spouse suggested going for the "traditional method," which involved engaging in sexual intercourse with the Reddit user's younger sister instead of opting for in vitro fertilization and implanting one of her fertilized eggs.
Although her husband argued that it was to save time and money (since IVF could cost up to $30,000), she maintained that they were financially ready.
She expressed feeling "shocked, devastated, and uncomfortable" with his proposal and ultimately rejected the idea.
She stated that if they proceeded with it, it would be something she would never forget.
However, at present, she alleges that he is trying to make her feel guilty and accusing her of selfishness because he has always had the desire to become a father.
She shared her circumstances on the TrueOffMyChest subreddit, and a considerable number of individuals were troubled and repulsed by her husband's behavior.
"My husband and I have been struggling with infertility. We've tried some options and right now we're looking into surrogacy," she began.
"My sister agreed to do it but my husband said he looked at how much time and money IVF would take and slowly started hinting that we take the traditional way."
"I was too shocked to even say anything but he acted like what he said was not even that big of a deal."

"He explained that it's just a quick way for us to have a baby and spare the money and time to use later."
The woman stated that she is entirely against the idea and has, therefore, chosen to abandon the notion of surrogacy altogether.
"I can't even imagine my sister's reaction once she hears my husband's suggestion," she continued.
"I'm both devastated over the fact that one, he'd even entertain having sex with my sister just because he wants the easy way, and two, if I ever agree despite feeling uncomfortable then I will always carry this memory of how the baby is conceived."

Following her expression of disapproval towards his suggestion, the Reddit user reported that her spouse began to accuse her of not having faith in him and held her accountable for their fertility problems.
"He's now started guilting me saying I don't trust him and saying I'm selfish for choosing to back out when he still wants to be a dad like he expected when he married me," she added.
"[He's] basically blaming me for my infertility issues. I feel so devastated and like my body is useless and has failed me to the point where I could expect any negative comment on it whether true on not."
'"Emotionally and mentally... I just can't express how I feel right now."
In the comments section, she clarified that her sister is still completely unaware of the circumstances.
"I'm not planning on telling her because I won't let it happen. I'm not even considering his suggestion and if he wants to keep saying that I'm the problem then it's fine with me," she wrote.
"I've endured so much for the past years mentally, physically, and emotionally and now it won't be much different."
Furthermore, she added that they were financially prepared for surrogacy, so financial concerns were not a factor.
"I would like to point out that financially, we are ready. Otherwise, we wouldn't have started exploring other options," she explained.
"He can be so paranoid and anxious when it comes to money but in this case he has no legitimate reason."
Her post gained rapid popularity and has since garnered over 8,000 comments, with some individuals offering their encouragement to the woman and others condemning her "manipulative" and "creepy" spouse, advising her to leave him.
"What you and your husband need is a divorce, not a baby," wrote on user.
Another added: "There are many ways to become a parent. But not with this guy! Right now, your lack of pregnancy is a blessing! Get out of this marriage!"
"Your husband isn't in it for the right reasons,' said someone else. 'On top of that, he's blaming you for not getting pregnant? This shouldn't be a man to stay married to... Let alone have a baby with."
"That is a huge red flag,' read a fourth comment. 'Like, many red flags. Can't get much redder."
"It's straight up abusive behavior - it's beyond red flag," claimed a different user.
Several others highlighted that if her husband did engage in sexual intercourse with her sister and impregnated her, legally, the baby would be considered her sister's and not hers.
Another added: "This is not a surrogacy situation. This would be your sister's and your husband's baby and your sister would be under no legal obligation to let you adopt her child after birth. This is absolutely outlandish."
"IVF is not the same as your husband knocking up your sister, people," pointed out a different user.
