A 90-year-old widow is in joyful tears after strangers came to fix her home

The seniors in our society have so much to offer, and their wisdom is incomparable.

They provide younger generations with advice, conversations, and entertainment to help them grow as they reach maturing age.

Therefore, we should always look out for the elderly in our neighborhoods and treat them with respect. Even though they’re not strong, they’ve much to teach us.

And one elderly widow was overwhelmed with joy when her community and strangers came to her aid.

At the age of 90, Agnes was in desperate need of help. She lives alone, and for years, her relative had been using her home to dump trash and debris.

The situation got worse once rusted and rotting junk covered her entire yard, and it stank. And the widow’s neighbors got tired of seeing the junk in her yard and complained to the city.

City officials were quick to take action. They threatened to charge the poor widow up to $2,500 every day if she failed to clean up the mess.

But Agnes can barely walk, so she couldn’t remove the trash herself. Cooking, cleaning, and getting dressed on her own were also a struggle.

Her home was also in disrepair. She didn’t have air conditioning, her roof was falling apart, and animals were getting into the house.

And with her husband passed on, she had no one to turn to for help.

She contacted Operation Blessing. The organization provides disaster relief, health and medical care, hunger relief, vulnerable children and orphan care, safe water, and community development.

A few days later, folks at Operation Blessing cleaned out all Agnes’ yard. They also tore down the dilapidated shed and trailer on her property.

Along with the agreed fixes, they also fixed her roof. And with help from the local community, they rebuilt a pathway to her house.

They also planted some flowerbeds in her garden and removed debris that had been lying outside her home.

The volunteers prepared their last surprise, which Agnes liked the most: A brand new air conditioner!

Agnes is now proud of her property. She’s also happy that she no longer has the threats from the city hanging over her head.

She told CBN how well-wishers worked on her property and did an excellent job. Agnes considers them her little angels.

She added that she’ll never forget the volunteers who came to help her.
