When A Toxic Relationship Finally Ends

When A Toxic Relationship Finally Ends

More often than not, people don't know you are in a toxic relationship unless you outright talk about it. It's something that's easy to hide from the outside world. They might not see it but you know those scars are there. You know what you went through and how it left you feeling like a shell of yourself.

The person has beaten you down so much that you might not even recognize yourself anymore. Your spark is all but gone. But there's still something there, or else you wouldn't be here right now. You must have some fight left in you. The spark is still smoldering deep within you. You just have to find a way to reignite it.

How You Feel After Leaving A Toxic Relationship

You might find yourself feeling completely lost after the breakdown of a toxic relationship. In a way, you did love that person. Why else would you have stayed? There was obviously something there that you wanted; at first anyway.

But then you start to feel angry. Angry that you had to go through this at all. Angry that you are left feeling lost and confused as to who you really are.

Is what they said to you true? They said some awful things. Do those things really reflect who you are as a person? NO! And these thoughts make you very, very angry! How could they?

Then that anger turns to pride in a way. Look at you! Look at what you went through and came out the other side! You can breathe again! You're free!

How To Get Your Spark Back After A Toxic Relationship

Keep in mind, it will take a while but you will get back to where you were before you were beat down in your relationship. You'll probably end up as a better version of yourself in the long run. When you have gone through something traumatic, you don't realize how strong you are until strong is all you can be.

After all, you made it through the relationship in one piece didn't you? If you can make it through that, you can make it through anything. You are one strong person! Nobody can take that from you now.

Now you know what to look for in future relationships. You know the red flags to watch out for. You'll never allow yourself to be treated like that again. You are a stronger and better version of yourself. Remember that. Carry that thought with you always as you meet challenges in your life.

Show Your Pride

Nobody has to know exactly what you've been through. That can be your secret to keep if you so wish. But show people you will not be treated like that ever again. You've survived and made it through in (mostly) one piece. Be the opposite of what your former partner told you that you were. Show them how wrong they are.

Nothing says "strong" like surviving a toxic relationship. You did it. Now go out there and show them what you've got!
