Almost eight years after her father's death, Paul Walker's daughter tied the knot, and Paul's costar and friend Vin Diesel had a special place in the ceremony.

Weddings are beautiful occasions, though often they are far from what we imaged growing up. For Meadow Walker, like for many women who lost one or both parents, it was a bittersweet moment.

The 22-year-old married actor Louis Thornton-Allan in the Dominican Republic, and with Diesel's help, it was both a wonderful ceremony and a small tribute to her late father.

Keeping Paul Walker's Memory Alive

After Paul Walker's death, most of his Fast & Furious costars did their part to keep his memory alive. However, Vin Diesel was one of the loudest and proudest to have had Paul for his friend, often reminding others of his late friend's philanthropic activities.

Many worried how the death of Paul Walker would affect his child, Meadow. Yet, Diesel once again stepped up, acting like a father figure to the young woman.

Their bond is strong, as Vin Diesel often shared snaps of Paul's daughter on his Instagram.

For her 21st birthday, the actor wrote:

"I could say that I am so proud of the person you are becoming... but the truth is I have always been proud of you. Love you, kid."

And their bond is so strong that Meadow is the first person to wish happy Father's Day to Diesel, as he revealed:

"She takes good care of me. She's the first person on Father's Day to wish me a happy Father's Day."

Vin Diesel is a father of three, so finding himself in this role came naturally.

Meadow Walker Gets Married

Meadow and Louis Thornton-Allan confirmed their relationship in July.

Just a month later, the two announced their engagement via Instagram.

Speaking to Vogue, the bride said that the pandemic ruined their plans:

"Louis's family wasn't able to attend. A lot of close friends whom we consider family were also unable to attend due to travel restrictions."

It still was a day to remember, and Vin Diesel taking over the traditional father's role melted hearts across the internet.

Paul Walker's on-screen lover, Jordana Brewster, was also on the guest list, making the day even more special for the late actor's fans.

Perfect Day

After the ceremony was over, the 22 year old and her new husband took the guests to the beach, where they all danced barefoot.

Meadow told Vogue:

"To finish the night, there was a wonderful display of fireworks, and we lit lanterns into the picturesque night sky."

Adding:

"We couldn't have imagined it to be any more perfect and personal."

She later added a short clip of her dreamy wedding to her Instagram page.

The young woman now has three men close to her heart, despite all the heartache she felt as a teen, losing her father in a car accident.

Paul Walker would be proud of his only child and his friends.
