Ufc Champ Cain Velasquez Tried To Kill Man Who Molested His 4-year-old Son At Daycare: Reports

A former UFC heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez, was arrested for attempted murder. He allegedly tried to kill a man who had abused his 4-year-old son.

A close friend of Velasquez, Ryan Bader, revealed through a Facebook post that the fighter's 4-year-old son was the reason behind the incident. Bader was Velasquez's wrestling teammate while they were at Arizona State University.

According to various reports, the victim was Velasquez's "close relative."

The 39-year-old Velasquez tried to shoot 43-year-old Harry Goularte on February 28 in South San José. Nevertheless, he ended up striking Goularte's stepfather.

Before the incident took place, the victim had revealed to the police that Goularte had molested him at a San Martin home daycare. The daycare is operated by Goularte's mother.

Goularte also lives in residence.

Goularte was charged with committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. After his arraignment on February 25, he got a supervised release, although the prosecutors tried to argue against the arrangement.

After three days, Goularte would have the electronic monitor fitted when Velasquez chased him from San Martin to Morgan Hill. He then shot at him near a school in South San José.

Velasquez was taken into custody in San José.

At the time the shooting happened, Goularte's mother and stepfather were also in the car with him. The stepfather ended up with a wound on his arm and torso.

Fortunately, he is expected to make a full recovery from the injuries.

When Velasquez requested bail, his request was turned down. Additionally, two GoFundMe campaigns have already been shut down for trying to raise money for his legal fees.

His next appearance in court will be on April 14.
