A transgender inmate, Demi Minor, who impregnated two inmates at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women, has been moved to another facility.

Minor is serving 30 years for stabbing her former foster father to death. The 27-year-old was recently transferred to the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility.

Demi started a transition in 2020 when she was transferred from the male prison to Mahan.

She complained she was misgendered and abused by guards and allegedly tried to kill herself while transported to the second facility.

Dan Sperrazza, a Department of Corrections spokesman, said that Minor is in a vulnerable unit at the facility and is currently the only woman prisoner on the site.

In her blog post on Justice 4 Demi, Minor said she was mocked when she asked for a female officer to perform a strip search.

She also wrote she was beaten during the transfer.

Demi mentioned she was briefly in a New Jersey State Prison, where the guards called her "he" over 30 times.

Minor kept her makeup but expressed that wearing it would be "a death wish."

Minor, who impregnated two women while in prison, wrote:

"I have accepted that I am in a male facility, but I have not accepted nor will I ever agree to or accept that I am anything other than a woman who happens to be transgender."

Allegedly, a guard told Minor: "I don't give a f*** what you do ….there is no camera here ... everyone here is man, including you."

At the New Jersey State Prison, she also faced scrutiny as she wrote:

"[The department of corrections] has violated my right to be safe and free from sexual harassment by putting me in one of the most violent youth Correctional facilities."

"While living here at GYSC, I have found myself under attack by young inmates who are immature and just plain ignorant towards a person like me."

She sees transfer from Edna Mahan Prison as a punishment:

"They have violated my right to be safe and free from sexual harassment by putting me in one of the most violent youth correctional facilities."

Minor further wrote, "I don't know what it's like to live as a man, and I refuse ever to revert back to such habits or behavior."

The facility has no air conditioning or cable and does not allow video visits or LGBTQ groups. Minor complained, ".. yet they said that I am here for safety no, please understand that I am here for punishment, just the sad part is this punishment may kill me."

She added, "Mentally, I have not been myself, and I am losing my essence. The Demi, who wants to wear makeup and hang out with her friends, is not permitted here."

Mahan facility has around 800 intimates, including transgender. Currently, it has 27 transgender inmates. Minor was transferred once it came to light that she impregnated two female inmates.

Demi was 16 when she broke into the home of Theotis Butts in Gloucester Township, New Jersey. At the time, she was no longer in his foster care.

Demi stabbed him several times, and Butts died. She was arrested in New York.

Demi was convicted of carjacking after stealing a Pontiac Grand Prix while holding a gun pointed to the owner's wife's face. The couple took their baby as Demi drove off with their car.

She has turned her life around during her prison time and became a jailhouse lawyer advocating for other prisoners.
