During the incident, a hot air balloon festival was taking place about seven miles away from the scene in Worcester, on both Friday and Saturday.
Emergency services promptly arrived at the location and paramedics declared a man in his 20s deceased.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB), responsible for investigating civil aircraft accidents, has confirmed its involvement in the investigation.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority reported that there were a total of 10 hot air balloon accidents in the UK between 2014 and 2018.
Tragically, in 2021, a hot air balloon crash in Albuquerque, New Mexico resulted in the loss of five lives.
According to the police, on June 6, 2021, the basket detached from the balloon and crashed. This incident caused a power outage affecting over 13,000 people in the vicinity.
The crash claimed the lives of two men, including the pilot, as well as two women. Another individual who was initially in critical condition was transported to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive.
Eyewitnesses shared their accounts on social media, describing the sight of the powerless hot air balloon descending from the sky without its basket. One person even posted a video capturing the scene from their window.
"Power went out first," they shared.
"Looked out my window saw it falling with no basket. Horrible."
