Miley Cyrus might be the name most popular for the twerking dance move, but there is a woman who is giving the world-famous artist a run for her money after turning this popular move into a well-paying hustle. Just for shaking her behind, Jessica Vanessa is making a 6-figure salary.

Today, she is a popular social media personality, and her talent for gyrating her bottom has won the 22-year-old devoted fans from all around the world.

Before she discovered her new job as a dancer, Jessica was a teaching assistant from Florida. The decision to quit her job came after advertisers saw her dance moves through Vine videos.

Once the marketers realized that her moves were getting a lot of attention, they had a deal for her. They offered her a lot of money for an opportunity to market their products to her millions of followers.

Saying goodbye to her teaching job was easy as soon as she realized that there was more money to be made as a dancer. She realized that there was no way she could make that much money working as a teacher and quit in favor of being a dancer.

The improvement in her earning potential was so glaring:

"What I make in six seconds would take me four months to make as a teaching assistant."

Soon, her new job was paying off, and she even bought a new car, which she paid in full. Twerking also helped her get out of her college debt.

She realizes that she should be thankful to her fans for her newfound fortune.

More Fans, More Money

Her job is simple: the more fans she has, the more advertisers will pay her to promote their products. Since she has lots of fans, she gets lots of money.

However, she has not let fame and fortune get to her head. As far as she knows, she is just a simple girl from Florida who got a viral Vine video that turned her into a social media sensation.

To keep her fans entertained, she blends comedy sketches with the videos. After seeing how well she was doing online, she decided to give up her teaching job.

Jessica understands that quitting her job was a huge risk. However, she is not looking back:

"Either I make money doing these videos or I'm going to be broke and jobless."

Jessica Was Shy Before

Today, she appears to be full of confidence, but that was not always the case. She confirmed that she was quite shy and wasn't particularly excited about dancing in front of people before:

"When I was younger I was very shy and I didn't like dancing in front of anybody."

However, she found friends who made her more confident so that by the time she was in high school, she could pass for a party girl.

Today, she is definitely living a life most girls can only dream about. However, fame has not always been a great experience.

She admits that she gets lots of rude and mean comments. "I've even had two breakdowns over them."

Jessica went to the point of locking herself in her room. She even entertained the thought of taking down all her social media accounts.

As far as Jessica is concerned, she is not a celebrity. However, she seems to have that kind of experience. Strangers call her names, saying she is fat, ugly, or whatever mean thing they can say to her.

Jessica knows that the kind of dancing she does comes with a lot of misconceptions about her. Many people assume she is a whore just because she twerks.

She wishes people understood that this is just a type of dancing and stop reading more into it.

Fortunately, Jessica has found a strong support system in her family. They, too, have had to overcome their own misconceptions about twerking and are now quite open to the concept:

"They're very open-minded people – they don't look at it in any type of sexual way."

Unlike many other people, her family does not think twerking is degrading at all. More importantly, they are fully supportive of her hustle.

She would even let her grandmother see her dance videos, and the fun-loving granny, according to Jessica, would probably want to dance with her. However, her family was not always supportive of her career as a twerker.

For instance, her dad, Rafael De Leon, 46, had problems accepting Jessica's drastic career change. Fortunately, he now supports her 100 percent.

Jessica's dad works as a pawnbroker. He admitted that the reason he had an issue with his daughter's career choice was that he had a problem accepting that his little girl was all grown up:

"As a parent I still see her as my little girl, I don't see as mature."

According to Rafael, Jessica could be forty years old and still be his baby.

However, he is now committed to supporting her in every possible way because he loves everything she does. He has vowed to support her regardless of what she chooses to do with her life.

As for Jessica, she feels she is doing what she was born to do. She recalls dreaming of becoming someone big as a child, and that is clearly what is happening today.

She hoped that one day she could sing, dance, entertain people and make them laugh, and that assures her that what she is doing is okay.

Jessica has always loved doing "random crazy stuff." In other words, she did not like her predictable day job as a teacher.

For her, Vine opened doors of opportunity and allowed her to do what she loves today.
