Hollywood always takes a note when a celebrity passes away. Many fans also find it heartbreaking when a beloved star who inspired them dies.
On rare occasions, the world gets images of celebrities just before they die. Although these images can be saddening, they are also a sobering reminder that life is short and that every moment of it is worth cherishing.
1. Chester Bennington, Linkin Park's Lead Singer

Chester Bennington was the lead singer in Dead by Sunrise, Linkin Park, and Stone Temple Pilots. Needless to say, he had lots of fans and admirers.
His wife took this photo. Later, she tweeted that even though he had thoughts of self-harm, she could not have told from looking at him that he would end up hanging himself.
2. Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter

Steve was loved worldwide, and his death came soon after a tragic encounter with a stingray.
This picture was taken a day before his death. It comes off a clip of him as he focused on what he did best.

3. Christina Grimmie, "The Voice" Finalist

Christina was a finalist in The Voice and also a YouTube star. In this photo, she enjoyed a rare moment with fans when she was attacked and killed.
This photo was taken less than five minutes before she died. The fans in the picture still vividly remember the moments before the singer was killed.
4. Tupac Shakur, Musician

Tupac Shakur was famous around the world, and he still is. This photo was taken moments before he was shot on September 7, 1996.
He died from his injuries less than a week after he was shot.
5. Anton Yelchin From Star Trek

Anton Yelchin is famous for his portrayal of Pavel Chekov in three Star Trek movies.
He took this photo and uploaded it on Instagram, and it was the last photo of him before he died in a fatal accident just outside his home.
6. Cory Monteith, Glee Actor

Fans of the famous show, Glee, were quite distressed when they heard that Cory Monteith had passed away. Days before his death through accidental overdose, his manager Elena Kirschner shared this silhouette of the famous actor as he sat in a restaurant in Vancouver.
7. Hugh Hefter, Playboy Founder

This photo of the Playboy founder was taken by his son Marston on August 6, 2017. Hefner died less than a month after the photo was taken.
8. Carrie Fisher, Famous As Princess Leia In Star Wars

In this photo, Carrie Fisher was photographed with a fan. She died a day later of a heart attack while on a flight on December 27th, 2016.
9. Joey Feek, Country Music Singer
Joey and his Wife Rory formed an amazing country music duo. Rory took this photo of Joey while preparing dinner with her family a week before she succumbed to cancer.
10. Kim Porter
Kim posted this photo herself before she died two weeks later from pneumonia at 47.
11. Anthony Bourdain
This photo of Bourdain was taken two days before his death by his cameraman. The man also shared the photo on his Instagram account.
The image shows that there is no figuring out what is really going on with someone.
12. Mohammad Ali, Famous Boxer
Legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali, died on June 3rd, 2016. This is the last known photo of him during a FaceTime chat, and it was taken by his daughter Hana, who shared it on Twitter.
13. Joan Rivers

A week before she died, Joan Rivers joked about her death. She died of a heart attack.
She had joked that she could "go at any moment."
14. Garry Shandling

Gary Shandling is famous for It's Garry Shandling's Show. He also played the role of Senator Stern in the Marvel Comic Universe.

Mac Miller shared this photo of himself a day before he passed away from an accidental drug overdose.
16. Stan Lee, Marvel Legend

Stan Lee died at the age of 95, and this photo was taken two days before he died. He was with his friend Roy Thomas, who had visited him.
According to Roy, Stan Lee was still talking about more cameos because he loved them. However, according to Roy, he was also ready to go.

Stephen had been diagnosed with ALS, and he died at the age of 57 on November 26th, 2018.
18. Avicii, Famous DJ

Avicii, a world-famous DJ, committed suicide when he was 28 years old. He took this photo with fans at Muscat Hills Resort, where he stayed before taking his life.

Aretha Franklin was dealing with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor when she died. She gave her last interview with TMZ, and she seemed pretty happy despite her predicament.
20. James Brian Hellwig, The Ultimate Warrior

James, known as The Ultimate Warrior, passed away on April 8, 2014. This was one of the last known photos of Hellwig with a fan who wanted something to remember him by.
The photo was taken at the New Orleans airport before he died due to heart disease.
21. Freddie Mercury, Queen Lead Singer

This photo was taken shortly before Freddie Mercury died. Less than 24 hours before his death, which was caused by AIDS complications in 1991, he released a statement that said he was HIV positive.
He intended to spread awareness about the disease.

He last appeared in public in November 2015 and met Manuel Miranda after enjoying Hamilton on Broadway.
25. Beth Chapman, Duane "Dog" Chapman's Wife
Beth died on June 26, 2019. In this photo, she was in the final days of her life.
She was battling cancer.
26. Cameron Boyce, Disney Channel Star

Cameron passed away in July 2019 at the age of 20. Soon after his death, his father posted, expressing his sadness at losing his son.
He died after suffering from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
27. Emily Hartridge, YouTuber

Emily died after a collision with an electric scooter in London. The YouTuber died at the age of 35.
