Katy Perry, the 'Dark Horse' singer, recently revealed that she discovered the "real truth" about Russell Brand after their divorce.

Russell Brand, 48, has been making headlines due to a joint investigation by Channel 4, The Times, and The Sunday Times, resulting in an article and documentary.

Four anonymous women have come forward with allegations of assault by the comedian between 2006 and 2013.

One of these women claims she was only 16 when the alleged assault occurred, with Brand being 31 at the time. Another woman accused Brand of emotional and physical abuse, while a third alleged she was threatened with legal action after an alleged assault while working with him.

The fourth woman claimed Brand sexually assaulted her at his Los Angeles home.

The investigation, spanning several years, involved examining texts, medical notes, and Brand's biography.

Katy Perry, who is now engaged to British actor Orlando Bloom, has not commented on the allegations against her former husband. Perry and Brand met in 2009 while filming a movie cameo, started dating, and got engaged by the end of the year.

They married in 2010 but divorced in 2012. Following the divorce, Perry spoke to Vogue magazine in 2013, sharing that she had learned the "real truth" about her ex-husband.

"He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him," she said to the outlet at the time.

"Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me [on] December 31, 2011."

"I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can't necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day."

"I let go and I was like: This isn't because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that."

Perry has not disclosed the details of the 'truth' she discovered.

In her interview with Vogue, Perry mentioned that her ex-husband had been 'very controlling' and had grown uncomfortable with her touring.

The 'California Gurls' artist elaborated: "At first, when I met him, he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they're like, 'I can't handle the equalness'."

Brand has vehemently denied all the allegations against him. On September 15, before the accusations were made public, he posted a video on YouTube titled "So, This Is Happening," where he criticized them as 'aggressive attacks'.

Addressing the situation on his channel, the actor from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" asserted: "Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute."

"These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time when I was in the movies, and as I've written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous."
