The Power Of Love Quotes, By The Exceptional Rumi

Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, commonly known as just Rumi, was a 13th-century poet from Persia. He dedicated his life to writing beautiful poetry about love. He was also a dervish and a mystic.

The great man he was, he impacted numerous artists of all mediums. His words are still some of the most powerful in history, and for a good reason, Have you ever read Rumi’s poetry?

Even if you haven’t, I dare your heart not to soar with joy after reading some of these amazing quotes.

“The minute I heard my first love story,

I started looking for you, not knowing

how blind that was.

Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.

They’re in each other all along.”

Every poem means something different to different people. This is why analyzing poetry is not an exact science. To me, this poem speaks of that yearning for love we have from an early age.

From the moment we hear that there’s someone for everyone, we start our search for that other person. And while the search is fun, it can be tiring.

But what we need to remember first is that we are our own soulmates and then that we will know once we find someone right for us.

This poem is also hard to define, but I’d say that love is in all of us and everything around us. Love is what binds us all.

“Love calls – everywhere and always.

We’re sky bound.

Are you coming?”

Rumi was a firm believer that love is the only thing that matters in this world, and he spoke of it often in his poems. For true love, when it’s real and you are your best self with that person, you should do anything.

“Gamble everything for love, if you’re a true human being“

And Rumi didn’t believe in the distance either. In his mind, the distance was of no importance when two lovers or two people who love each other are involved. As such, it speaks to people who are in a long-distance relationship

“Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation”

Here is another beautiful Rumi quote – and it doesn’t just mean romantic love, but any kind of true love too.

“This is a subtle truth. Whatever you love you are.”

And here’s a quote that I believe can be analyzed in two different ways. For one, it may mean falling in love with your heart and mind, not with your eyes. But I also think it can mean that you should fall in love with yourself.

“Close your eyes, fall in love, stay there.”

Then there’s this gem, which will warm your soul.

“If the light is in your heart, you will find your way home.:

And finally, a reminder that even if you love other people, you should take the time to know and love yourself first:

“Your heart is the size of an ocean. Go find yourself in its hidden depths”
