Producer Jon Peters waited for his dream woman, Pamela Anderson, for over three decades. Only 12 days after their secret Malibu wedding, they filed for divorce. So much for "good things come to those who wait."

Playboy's all-time favorite and the producer met when she was only 21, while Peters was in his 40s. This was back in 1989, and the two dated briefly. He never got over her, and Pam moved on to rockers and a series of bad boys.

Jon Peters, now 74, and Anderson, 52, found a way to return to each other, 30+ years later. At the time of their (short) wedding, the groom said:

"There is much more to her than meets the eye, or I wouldn't love her so much."

"There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but — for 35 years — I've only wanted Pamela. She makes me wild — in a good way."

"She inspires me. I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated."

He also shared the moment he first saw her:

"I walked in and saw this little angel sitting at the bar. It was Pammy. She was like 19. I knew she would be a big star. We ended up living together. Of course, Hefner loved her and saw her beauty. Pamela was a girl who, with no makeup, was gorgeous. She was very smart and very talented. I tried to talk her out of doing Playboy. I said, "Don't do Playboy. Focus on a serious career."

The fact is that the producer wanted to marry her when she was barely old enough to drink, as his friend said:

"Peters proposed, but Anderson turned him down. He now remembers telling her, "In 30 years, our age difference won't mean so much."

After four failed marriages on both sides, eight overall, the two crazy kids got hitched. But only for 12 days or so.

The Malibu Wedding

At the private ceremony, Pamela writing a poem to her hubby, all looked rather mature, and yet so Hollywood. Many sources claimed the two were madly in love, and perhaps they were in love with the idea of this ideal, long-awaited marriage. But, sadly, that wasn't the reality.

Pam's wedding poem said:

"Jon is the original 'bad boy' of Hollywood –

no one compares –

I love him deeply like family.

His life used to scare me.

So much for a girl like me.

Now I've seen more of life

and realize…

He's been there all along…"

The fantasy was much better than the real thing. Just short twelve days later her team released a statement:

"We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to reevaluate what we want from life and from one another."

It's relatively clear that both loves to get married, but they can't seem to nail that whole marriage thing properly. No explanation was given, but it's clear that the honeymoon phase ended before the actual honeymoon.
