After three girls disappeared from their home in Texas, they were found dead in a pond by a dive team. A family friend had been babysitting the girls before they went missing.
The three girls are Zi'Ariel Robinson Oliver, 9, A'Miyah Hughes, 8, and Te'Mari Robinson Oliver, 5.
On Friday, 29 July, the girls were reported missing from their home, and a frantic search for them began.
On Saturday morning, a dive team retrieved their bodies from a private pond on a neighboring property. So far, the cause of their death has not been established.
Their mother posted on Facebook that it was "so unreal" that she had lost her "sweet babies." She also said she was trying to be strong for their sake, although this was an especially difficult time for her.
After the three girls went missing, the authorities started a search for them.
Their mother, 28-year-old Shommaonique Oliver, was at work while a family friend was keeping an eye on them. The friend then called 911 to say that they were missing.
Authorities then revealed that the girls were found in a pond close to Highway 77 at 2 am on Saturday. The police decided to search around the pond after they found shoes and other types of clothing strewn near the water:
"We located items of clothing around a pond and in a pond."
Divers helped recover the three bodies.
A video from the scene where the bodies were found showed a bicycle that had been left close to the pond. It has not been established if the bike belonged to the girls or if they had ridden it there.
Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe told the media they still have no idea what the girls were doing at the pond.
Investigators have not made any conclusions about the deaths of the three girls. The bodies are currently undergoing analysis, and nobody has been accused of their murders.
The girls' mom told the media that losing her daughters was heartbreaking. She also made it clear she was not giving interviews to the media since she was "trying to bury" her girls.
On social media, she said the incident shocked the whole family. She also mentioned that her family was helping her through the ordeal.
The grieving mom has also set up a GoFundMe page to help raise funds to take care of the girls' funeral costs.
She wrote on the page saying that she was asking for help so that she could lay her sweet angels to rest.
In a different post, the mom said that words could not explain the pain she was going through. She said she just wanted her girls back in her arms before saying, "Rest easy, my sweet baby girls (sic) say hi to granny for me I miss and love you all."
Shammaonique got a lot of support from friends and family.
China Davis, her cousin, posted pictures of the girls on Facebook, saying the girls were both family and friends.
The mom's Facebook page got lots of messages of condolences and prayers. Relatives also expressed shock at learning that the girls were dead through the page.
One of them admitted that the tragedy did not seem real, as Shammaonique had said in her post. Another person encouraged people to donate through the fundraising page that had been set up to help offset the girls' funeral costs.
