D'Adrien Anderson, 24, from Texas, is arrested on a charge of criminal mischief. He was licking ice cream, but things aren't that simple.

He'll spend six months in prison and pay a fine of 1000 USD. Anderson was caught by the police licking an ice cream tub and putting it back on the shelf, thanks to security cameras.

But, it also helped that he posted the video on his social media accounts.

So, apart from going to jail and paying one thousand, he'll have to complete 100 hours of community service and pay 1565 USD to the ice-cream company Blue Bell.

Though there was video footage of the man's misbehavior, his video gained popularity and made things easier for the police. And now, he'll be spending months in jail. Some prank, huh?

The irony is that Anderson went back to the store and bought the ice cream he already tasted. So, he is paying for trying to be online funny. And there's something bizarre about the sense of humor among the social media users.

Where's the joke?

Apart from creating extra work for Blue Bell, the joke's anything but funny.

But, what's even sadder is that the ice cream and frozen yogurt company had to throw away all the supplies.

Port Arthur Walmart store could've used that candies for poor kids, but they are left with a poorly crafted joke.

Walmart spokesperson stated:

"In the event that food is altered, or a client needs to have the effect that they deserted contaminated items, we will move rapidly with law authorization to distinguish, capture, and arraign the individuals who think this is a joke – it isn't."

Others got caught as well

Anderson pleaded guilty, but he isn't the only brave young licker who got caught.

A Texas woman, also licked Blue Bell ice cream in a store was identified after her video went viral. And she's facing 20 years in prison!

A 36-year-old man in Louisiana was arrested on the same accusation. The police reported he was charged even though he ended up purchasing the tub because "at any rate, it's a terrible thing to do."

So, was this silly prank worth the trouble? And getting a criminal record over it? We clearly don't think so.

And luckily for the rest of humanity, this trend stopped last year. At least we hope because the last thing we need during the pandemic is horny teenagers going around the stores worldwide, licking icy treats.

Oh, wait a minute, they aren't even teenagers, which only makes us further lose hope in humankind.
