Ever heard the saying, "Revenge is a dish best served cold?" It's a sentiment that can strike a chord with many of us, and occasionally, the universe aligns to deliver retribution in the most satisfying manner.
Such is the case in the following humorous tale. A young man returns home with a newly purchased truck, raising his parents' eyebrows due to its surprisingly low cost.
Sometimes, the stars align, presenting us with a chance too good to pass up. That's precisely what unfolds in this joke, and the twist is simply too good to miss.
A teenage boy, just sixteen, rolls into his driveway with a shiny new Ford F150.
His parents eye the vehicle and ask incredulously, "Where on earth did you get that truck?"
"I bought it today," the boy replies.
"With what money?" queries his mother, fully aware of the price tag associated with a new F150.
"Well, believe it or not, this truck only set me back fifteen dollars," he explains.
His father looks at him as if he's lost his mind. "Who in their right mind would sell a truck like that for just fifteen dollars?" he questions.
"The lady who lives up the street," the boy answers. "I'm not sure of her name; they just moved in. She saw me riding by on my bike and offered to sell me her F150 for fifteen bucks."
The mother exclaims, "Oh my goodness! She might be suffering from some mental condition or Alzheimer's. John, you need to go find out what's happening."
The father heads up the street and soon finds the lady, calmly gardening in her front yard. He introduces himself as the father of the boy she just sold the truck to, for fifteen dollars no less, and asks why she would do such a thing.
She explains, "Two days ago, my husband claimed to be leaving for a business trip. But just yesterday, his boss called and informed me that he had actually run off to Hawaii with his secretary and has no plans to return."
"That's awful, I'm so sorry to hear that," sympathizes the father, "but what does that have to do with my son buying your truck?"
"Well," she continues, "he called me this morning saying he was stranded because he had been robbed of his wallet, credit cards, and all his cash. He told me to sell his new F150 and send him the money. So, I did exactly that."
