Doctors had previously told Mackenzie McKee's mother that she only has 'six months to live.'

Teen Mom OG star Mackenzie McKee's mother, Angie Douthit, has died after battling brain cancer for nearly two years. She was 50.

The heartbreaking news was announced on Douthit's Instagram account, which she used to update her friends and family about her cancer journey.

Her daughter, Mackenzie, wrote:

"Momma @angiedouthit has crossed the finish line. She did not lose the battle, she one [sic]. She is healed and running in heaven in eternity. Idk anyone who left earth with such an impact, Your entire life, you never wasted a chance to let the world know God's love. When we would try to brag on what an amazing person you are, you would respond with, 'it's not me, it's God.'"

She continued:

"Could you imagine this world if we all lived like Angie Douthit? She always said, 'it's easy, we were put on earth to share God's love.'"

"And boy did she. 700 daily posts for you guys to read daily, hundreds of speaking engagements even when she could barely walk or speak, she simply trusted That God would speak through her."

Angie had been documenting her battle with the disease on Instagram before her death.

On one recent post, she wrote:

"Today was a little rough. Scans showed results that were not good. Cancer has grown in the liver and the brain. There is also some hemorrhaging in the brain. I will have two more doses of radiation, and that will be the last treatment I will be given."

The former school teacher, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor nearly two years ago, also noted how she'd be returning home in a few days. She even arranged for hospice staff to visit her.

She remained optimistic and believed her current situation could be the "darkness" before things take a positive turn.

Her daughter Mackenzie, 25, wrote on her own Instagram account, explaining how things weren't "looking good at all."

She said:

"I don't want to go into details because I can't hold it together to get through these details, but it is not looking good."

I'm hoping she can be here for Christmas.

But Mackenzie's wish never came to pass.

And shortly after her mother's passing, she posted a touching tribute on her Instagram account.

The caption read:

"On Monday, December 9, at 11:37 pm, Angie finished her race. Her last days were spent lovingly surrounded by family and friends as they prayed, sang, and shared funny Angie stories."

In August, Douthit had revealed on Teen Mom OG that doctors had given her six months to live.
