During her Eras Tour performance in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Friday night, Taylor Swift was seen visibly out of breath.
A fan-shared video from the concert, posted online on Saturday, captured the moment when the singer appeared to have difficulty breathing shortly after concluding her lengthy performance, which included the song "Bejeweled."
"OMG… this breaks my heart in so many levels," a worried fan expressed on Twitter after watching the video. "She's so professional but watching her like this, my best wishes go to her."
"I'm also thinking about fans that had to endure those crazies [si] temperatures… take care people and stay healthy!" the post added.
Another fan wrote, "She is only 33 and in incredible physical shape. That she was struggling that much is really scary."
Several individuals praised her for deciding to postpone Saturday night's show after fans endured extremely hot temperatures of nearly 100°F during the previous night's concert.
The 33-year-old Swift made an announcement on Saturday afternoon, explaining her decision to postpone the concert to prioritize the "safety and well-being of [her] fans, fellow performers, and crew."
This decision came after Ana Clara Benevides, who had attended Friday night's concert, tragically passed away following a cardiac arrest brought on by the extreme heat.
Benevides had documented her journey to the Eras Tour on social media on Friday, sharing her experience of waiting in line for hours to secure a prime spot in the stadium's general admissions area. Once inside, she managed to take some photos near the stage before collapsing.
Reports from the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo indicate that she received resuscitation efforts at the stadium for about 40 minutes before being transported by ambulance. Sadly, she did not survive to reach the hospital.
Swift later expressed her condolences and sorrow for the tragic loss of Benevides on social media, writing: "I can't believe I'm writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show."
"I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this. I'm not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it."
She continued, "I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends."
There have been no additional details disclosed regarding her Sunday concert.
