Steve Irwin's son has clearly inherited his dad's passion for wildlife and love for nature as he's now an award-winning photographer and zoologist.

Since a very young age, Robert Irwin has been interested in all things nature has to offer, and he has now taken those interests and turned them into a career.

Though he's still a teenager, he has been part of several conservation initiatives, and his recent photos will definitely make you appreciate wildlife even more.

He not only posts pictures on his social media accounts for his followers to see, but he has also won awards for his incredible wildlife shots.

He was recently highly commended at Britain's prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition for his dark image of a hand-sized huntsman spider mauling a desert tree frog.

Taking to Instagram, he said:

"So very proud for my photography to be highly commended in the world's most prestigious wildlife photography competition, 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' here in London."

"Honored to be part of the @nhm_wpy event, amongst some of the greatest photographers of all time. Congratulations to all of the other amazing commended and winning images."

"Thrilled that my photo will be part of a gallery going worldwide to hopefully inspire other young people to take up photography and appreciate the natural world."

And that's not all; his website details a whole list of other awards the talented photographer has already won, including being crowned the winner in the Glass House Mountains Rotary Calendar Photographic Competition 2017 and being highly honored in Nature's Best Windland Smith Rice International Photography Awards.

Robert was also the junior runner-up in the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of Year competition in 2016 and a finalist in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Robert is also the leading photography contributor to the Australia Zoo Crikey magazine.

He has also embarked upon many photography expeditions around the globe, from the savannah of Africa to the mountains of New Zealand, the wilderness of Europe, and everywhere in between.

He uses his passion for photography to contribute to wildlife and nature conservation. He has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Irwin's non-profit organization called Wildlife Warriors by auctioning canvas prints at various events throughout the world.

He has also met with world leaders and been invited for interviews by high-profiled figures to discuss the protection of natural habitats.

Aside from photography, Robert has starred in Logie and Emmy nominated shows Wild but True and Steve Irwin's Wildlife Warriors, published his own book series, as well as countless media appearances.

Alongside his family, Robert stars in the new Animal Planet Show, Crikey! It's the Irwins. He is also the animal presenter for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
