Staying At Home With Your Kids Is More Stressful Than Going To Work, Study Reveals

Being a stay-at-home parent isn't easy. A recent survey conducted by AVEENO Baby has revealed it might even be harder than holding down a full-time job.

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has spent the majority of time with their little children at home before heading back to work.

We all love our kids; there's no doubt about that. They're given to us by the universe to fill our lives with happiness, joy, affection, and unconditional love.

At least that's what most of us think. But it doesn't change the fact that sometimes they drive us nuts!

Staying at home and taking care of a kid, regardless of age, can be a lot more difficult and challenging than any other job.

Kids can drain your energy, especially the newborns.

Feeding, soothing, singing to sleep, bathing, changing, powdering, playing, cooing, gagging... Our unconditional love for them doesn't always reduce parenting stress.

Stay-at-Home Parents Need to Be Taken Seriously

Most parents don't usually like to complain about their bad experiences, and some people may wonder, "what's so hard about staying at home all day with your little one(s)?"

If you're not a parent yet, you might judge those who already have kids, without knowing the ordeal they go through every day.

Complaining all the time can indeed do more harm than good, but everyone deserves to raise their concerns, once in a while.

AVEENO Baby Survey

A recent UK study shows that many parents get more stressed while staying at home with their kids than going to work.

The survey, conducted by AVEENO Baby, had 1,500 participants. 31 percent of parents revealed staying home with their kids is harder than going to work every day.

Aveeno Baby Skin Expert Rebecca Bennett explained the survey was done in the hopes of reassuring new moms and dads that caring for a child isn't always easy.

Rebecca said:

"Becoming a parent is an amazing experience. But, we understand that entering this new chapter of life can also bring with it a great deal of stress and worry."

"We wanted to discover more about what new parents experience in the first few years. What they wish they had known and how best we can support them."

Not only is parenting expensive but also challenging, considering all the numerous responsibilities and decisions parents need to fulfill.

A report by ChildCare Aware states:

"From what you put in your baby's mouth to what you put on their skin, every small decision becomes much bigger, and you worry you might not be making the right choice or are being judged by others."
