You will be surprised that many stars you know were classmates and even shared dorm rooms before they became worldwide celebrities. So, if you ever needed proof that we live in a small world, here it is.

For instance, did you know that funnyman Anthony Anderson and Empire's Taraji P. Henson went to Howard University at the same time? Also, the famous actor Tommy Lee Jones and the towering political figure, Al Gore, went to Harvard together.

It also turns out that Kristen Bell was Matthew Morrison's classmate at NYU. In fact, they even went out on a couple of dates.

So, let's look at some of these stars, including a couple who ended up as co-stars.

1. Maya Rudolph And Gwyneth Paltrow

The Saturday Night Live star and Goop founder did not just attend school together. Their fathers actually both went to Tulane University and were both living in Los Angeles.

Their girls became friends, and both attended St. Augustine by the Sea in Santa Monica, California, where their relationship grew even stronger.

2. Sean Penn And Robert Downey Jr

Wait. Does this mean that practically all John Hughes movies have their origin in Santa Monica High, the famous birthplace of Brat Pack? The four celebrities were all attending the school within a few short years.

Actually, they were very close friends, at least according to a memoir by Rob Lowe, Stories I Only Tell My Friends.

Out of the four, only Lowe and Penn managed to graduate. Charlie Sheen was kicked out of school a couple of weeks before his graduation, while Robert Downey Jr dropped out.

Other famous attendees of Santa Monica High include Emilio Estevez, Sheen's brother, and Holly Robinson, who were both in the original 21 Jump Street.

3. Timothee Chalamet And Ansel Elgort

The famous New Yorkers both attended LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City. They both made their debut into the world of acting at about the same time.

In fact, both of them were nominated for a Golden Globe award in the year 2018. While at school, they played basketball together and shared a lot of teachers.

4. Beanie Feldstein And Ben Platt

Pitch Perfect actor Ben Platt met the Booksmart star when attending a mutual friend's Bat Mitzvah. The two were kids at the time, and they would reconnect later at Los Angeles' Harvard-Westlake School in ninth grade.

Ten years later, the two had their own Broadway shows. Beanie Feldstein was with Hello, Dolly! And Platt was with Dear Evan Hansen.

The pair have also attended many award shows together.

5. Nicole Kidman And Naomi Watts

Kidman and Watts have been friends for years, and the relationship began when they were still attending North Sydney Girls High School in Australia. They instantly hit it off.

Kidman said in an interview that, at one time, Watts had even dated her sister's boyfriend while they were in school. Apparently, they also modeled together as teenagers.

Eventually, they ended up acting together.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends since their childhood. They both went to Cambridge Ridge and Latin School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

In high school, the pair had the same drama teacher.

Later, both of them left Boston and starred next to each other in several movies. They also co-wrote Good Will Hunting and The Last Duel.

7. B.J. Novak And John Krasinski

Most people might recognize these two stars for starring in The Office together. However, the stars met long before they became popular actors.

They both went to Newton South High School in Massachusetts. They also had another connection as kids as they were both on the same little league baseball team.

8. Cameron Diaz And Snoop Dogg

Cameron Diaz, Bad Teacher actor, and the famous rapper Snoop Dogg both attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California. Later, Snoop even confessed that it's possible that he sold Diaz "some of that white-girl weed."

He made the admission when on the Lopez Tonight in the year 2011.

9. Stanley Tucci And Ving Rhames

The Mission: Impossible star Ving Rhames, and The Silence actor, Stanley Tucci, were both students at SUNY Purchase. Apparently, Tucci gave Rhames his nickname, Ving.

10. Tommy Lee Jones And Al Gore

The former vice president of the United States, Al Gore, and the Men In Black star, Tommy Lee Jones, both attended Harvard University. So, they knew each other for four years.

When asked what they did when attending school together back in 2000, Tommy Lee Jones said they "shot pool and watched Star Trek when maybe we should have been studying for exams."

11. Prince William And Kate Middleton

Prince William and Kate, the future king and queen, attended the University of St Andrews in 2001. They met while schooling together and started dating in 2003.

They later announced their engagement in 2010 before getting married a year later.
