Zachery Ty Bryan, best known as Brad Taylor on the 1990s sitcom Home Improvement, was arrested in Oregon. His charges include strangulation and assault of a woman.
If you were a 90s kid, you know that the sitcom Home Improvement was huge at some point. Bryan played the oldest son in this long-running sitcom.
Though there's nothing ironic about an assault, the paradox lies in the fact that most child stars have a run-in with the police. Often, it's more than once.
Home Improvement as it once was
The show lasted nearly a decade and followed the lives of Tim Taylor and his family. Tim Allen was the star, and Patricia Richardson played his wife, Jill.
The Taylors had three children. The oldest child, Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan), the middle child, Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), and the youngest, Mark (Taran Noah Smith).
During the first two years of the show, Pamela Anderson stared, but she quit and became a superstar with the Baywatch.
The series finale on May 25, 1999, is the highest-rated series finale television program of the 1990s. It's also the ninth overall series finale ever presented on a single network in television history.
Significant TV awards came both for the cast and the show.
As for Bryan, he went on to make several movies and to appear in multiple shows. Most notably, in True Heart (1999) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).
The assault charges
Bryan was arrested late in the evening of October 17, 2020, in Eugene, Oregon. Neighbors called the police following a fight in their apartment complex.
When the police arrived, Bryan was sitting outside. His female friend was hiding at a friend's house nearby.
After an examination, the police learned that 39-year-old Bryan got into some sort of argument with the woman.
It allegedly became physical.
The victim stated that he put his hands around her throat and squeezed.
The woman in question is 27, and according to some reports, she was his girlfriend.
Bryan's arrest was without further incidents. His charges consist of strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and interfering with making a report, as per Lane County Jail inmate search.
According to police, the victim declined medical treatment, and her name has not been released.
The actor parted ways from Carly Matros recently after 13 years of marriage. They have four children.
