When I was younger, I didn't care for autumn. I mean - the start of another school or uni year, boring lessons, loads of homework. It was like the beginning of the torture season for sure!
Suddenly, a couple of years later, I've become one of those: 'Nothing beats pumpkin spice!' people overnight.

Halloween spirit! Let's watch all the horror movies, please!
And yes, October indeed offers a warm welcome to the things that brighten up our monotonous and mediocre, adult days.
The Halloween mood is just the cherry on top of the cheesecake.
Rainy, chilly nights which you could spice up with a glass of wine or hot cocoa, snuggled under your favorite blanket, and devouring a book. Or a movie on TV!

Can something that is made by Tim Burton be unsatisfying? Duh! Never!
Tim Burton's movies are made for a Halloween marathon.
Sleepy Hollow may be an older movie, but don't be suspicious - it sure is one of his best works.
It's one of those stories where legends interpolate with urban myths, and you will end up wondering whether this whole thing happened for real, or if it's a product of one's fantasy.
Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci, in their younger days, the creepy mood that threads through the whole movie, the frightful, dark woods will surely keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
It's real gothic eye-candy.
The Craft (1996)
A catholic school - checked.
A clique of rebellious girls - checked.
One weird, lonely girl with magic powers - checked.
Add magic, spells, and teenage intrigues, and it already sounds like a Halloween version of Mean Girls, with witches included.
But these aren't some ordinary girls. They're into occultism and magic, and they dig deeper into the dark world.
We know that magic comes with a price, but do the girls know what they're doing when casting so many spells?
When the damage is done, the consequences are serious.
Would it be too late for regrets?
Crimson Peak (2015)
Edith Cushing is a young aspiring author that fell in love with an intriguing stranger.
"Beware of Crimson Peak" are the words that the ghost of Edith's mother says to her long-loved daughter.
But what does this mean? Is there anything that she needs to decipher?
If you thought that Tom Hiddleston could only be a part of a Marvel movie, then I'm happy to tell you that you're wrong.
Very, very wrong.
Gothic and romance surely make a great combo, even on the big screen. Melancholic, ghoulish, and dark in a good way. Crimson Peak is all these things.
One true gothic gem, in which Jessica Chastain shines her light.

One day, their baby Samuel disappears out of nowhere. And it seems like there are witches in these still woods, who take unbaptized babies and steal their souls.
Are witches real, or is this the empty stomach taking its toll by causing vivid hallucinations?
Brightburn (2019)
Are superheroes perpetually gifted with a good-hearted soul?
The sun finally decides to shine in Tori and Kyle Breyer's life. They are overwhelmed with the thoughts that they finally got a child, even besides the strange circumstances that led them to Brandon.
No matter how she got her child, a mother is always a mother.
Their secret is well-hidden in their barn and life is finally good.
But odd things start happening, and Brandon seems weird.
Is there something that hides in this little child?
Brightburn will offer everything opposite to the good guys we've used to in the previous superhero movies.
And this is the thing that makes this movie unique.
