Hollywood's awards season is about to start, and it will end with the biggest night in cinematography - The Oscars.
Sony and Marvel Studios hope that the newest Spider-Man will bring them a nomination for the best picture. Comic book films are known to be big at box offices, but they fail to be recognized when it comes to prestigious awards.
Spider-Man: No Way Home received raving reviews, and it would be only the second movie of its kind to be considered for an Oscar if the campaign works. Previously, Black Panther scored the best picture nomination.

Marvel Studios CCO Kevin Feige stated that the Oscars hold a "genre bias."
But, it doesn't mean that Marvel is not already pushing for a nom. There are two new ads, both relying heavily on the emotional part of the movie.
Tom Holland is on both ads, with the first one saying, For Your Consideration. The second involves Zendaya as well and their kiss at the end of the movie. It includes praises from San Francisco Chronicle's Mick LaSalle.

Will the campaign be a success? We'll know on February 8, 2022. The Joker did it, but the movie went in a completely different direction, despite its unbreakable connection with Gotham city.
Apart from pushing for Best Picture, the campaign relies on Tom Holland for Best Actor, Jon Watts for Best Director, and most likely special effects or costume awards.
What do you think? Is Spider-Man ready for its first Golden Statue?
