How many times have you been unhappy with the service or the product you received from someone? Those are not very good moments, are they?
Such situations force us to do the one thing that is never fun to do: contact support to complain. It sucks not knowing if the effort will make things better or much, much worse.
For most people, contacting support is a terrifying experience that can leave you regretting why you tried it in the first place.
Unfortunately, the internet does not make things any better. Online, you can find lots of terrifying conversations people have had with support.
Let's face it. Our society is incredibly co-dependent. Whether you like it or not, there will always come a time when you will be at someone else's mercy.
At these times, there is little else you can do but wait helplessly as someone else (willingly or reluctantly) tries to fix your problem.
A delivery man from DoorDash, an American food delivery service, had this experience when he tried to get in touch with their support about a payment issue. Sadly, he faced what seems like a conversation from a humorless and ruthless robot.
Scroll through the chat and see for yourself. Even though the man waited to deliver past the delivery time on the promise of additional pay, DoorDash went back on its word and refused to give the man the promised additional pay.
The Internet's Reaction
Fortunately for the delivery man, the internet was quite supportive of him after he told his story. At least he has that going for him.
A few swore they would never use their services again, while others had stopped using their services after realizing how bad they were to their staff.
One of their customers said that they only tipped in cash and not through the app after realizing what the establishment was capable of doing.
As it turns out, this delivery guy is not the only person to have had this experience while working with DoorDash. This disgruntled former worker got $5 after being promised $22, and he strongly advocates against using the company's services.
It's really unfair when someone is denied what they rightly deserve. In all honesty, DoorDash could do a better job of rewarding their staff for their services.
Ripping off their own will not work out too well for them in the long run, especially when evidence of their mistreatment keeps getting posted online.
