The Capitol riots nightmare didn't end with the January 6th embarrassment. About two months later, it has come to public attention that the National Guard has been living under deplorable conditions at the Capitol.
As it turns out, the soldiers have been fed undercooked food as well as meals with metal shavings.
That's before you consider that the government still can't explain why the National Guard needs to camp there in the first place. However, the uniformed guards have been sleeping on the floor, hanging out in parking garages during breaks, and eating food unfit for human consumption.
An anonymous sergeant revealed that more than a dozen soldiers got sick after they ate undercooked food. Several other soldiers also found metal shavings in their meals.
According to the sergeant, just the day before, there were 74 different meals with raw beef in them. Soldiers had also found metal shavings in their food.
Unfortunately, that is not the only problem the soldiers are facing. The food portions are also not adequate:
"You were getting maybe a Danish and some sort of juice… And then we had certain days where it was clearly a dinner role and Sunny D."
More Than A Dozen Soldiers Hospitalized
More than a dozen service members ended up in hospital after eating undercooked food and falling ill as a result.
There were several complaints about the quality of food the soldiers were getting, after which Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer got in touch with the acting secretary of the army.
Once the incident came to light, the soldiers were told not to eat the meals for the next two days. Instead, they were given MRE's.
In the meantime, they had to pay to get real food.
None Of This Is Fair
It is not clear why the soldiers have to stay at the Capitol in Washington.
More importantly, it is not fair that these soldiers are spending time away from their families, sleeping on floors, and being fed harmful food for an unclear cause.
All this is going on so that Democrats can convince the world that the country is about to fall into the hands of unarmed and disorganized rioters, some of whom ran around without shirts while donned in Buffalo horns.
The problem is that when the security was clearly needed at the Capitol to contain angry crowds, Nancy Pelosi did nothing of this sort.
Clearly, it is time the soldiers get a break and head back home. The charade has outlived its purpose and is clearly no longer working in favor of the Democrats.
