Simple Ways To Bring Positive Energy Into Your Home Using Feng Shui

"Out with the old, in with the new". When it comes to your home, this saying couldn't be more relevant. Now is always a perfect time to breathe new life into your home to help create a happy, healthy, peaceful, and inviting environment, and this is where Feng Shui can come to the rescue.

According to Feng Shui expert Priya Sher, 'Its principles maintain that we live in harmony with our environment. Its aim is to achieve balance in your living & working space and maximize your potential for success in all areas of your life. Literally translated, feng shui means 'wind water.' Wind scatters energy and water holds energy."

Our homes are a reflection of those who live in them. If any part is neglected or has low/negative energy or no flow to the energy, then this is reflected in the outside lives of those who live there.

"In its highest and purest form, good feng shui signifies perfect alignment between inner and outer worlds."
― Lada Ray

"Every aspect of your life is anchored energetically in your living space, so clearing clutter can completely transform your entire existence."
― Karen Kingston

Below are some simple ways you can change and bring positive energy into your home.

Your front door should be in excellent condition as this is the area that represents wealth. To draw this good energy to your door put some beautiful plants on either side, along with lights. Evergreens are fantastic for this area, as they are green and bulky all year round.

The hall of your home is the area that represents opportunities, so it's essential that this area is kept clutter-free to enable the energy to circulate. Any coats or shoes etc. should be stored inside a closed cupboard so that they won't inhibit the energy flow and cause stagnant energy. To activate the benefits of chi in the hallway put a mirror and fresh flowers if possible. Flowers uplift the energy in any place in an instant.

The kitchen is a space of great importance as it represents nourishment and relationship harmony for those living there. Make sure that the sink and the cooker are not opposite each other as it creates a fire and water crash which can lead to arguments between couples. Colors also play an important role in the kitchen and should be taken into consideration. Leave any red or black colors out of the kitchen as this can also cause a fire and water crash. The cooker is essential as it nourishes the family, so make sure it is not placed under a window or directly opposite the kitchen door or front door.

Make sure no doorways are blocked with ill-fitting furniture, ensure the furniture is in proportion to the space. The main sofa should be placed against a wall to offer support for all who live there. In the corner of the room, diagonally opposite the living room door, you should put a lamp as this will also activate wealth energy.

In Feng Shui, your dining room or table should be taken into great consideration as this is the space you can mindfully focus on what you are eating for nourishment. Feng Shui connects the dining space with the spleen, which relates to the element of Earth, which in traditional Chinese medicine is linked to digestion. To get the most out of this space and optimize the energy, place a mirror to reflect the dining room table and fresh flowers on the table.

Your bed should have a headboard positioned against a solid wall, and your bedrooms should be a light neutral color to aid and encourage restful sleep. If it's possible the bed should not be in line with the bedroom door, in feng shui, when your feet are in line with the door, it means that you are losing your energy at night. Bedside tables on either side provide support, while curvy lamps and lightly fragranced candles on either side help bring romantic energy into the room.

Keep your bathroom clean at all times and your toilet lid closed. This is the area of your house where wealth may be drained. Introducing plants into your bathroom helps to soak in water, which in effect slows the flow of wealth draining away.

The front garden is a representation of your future, so always make sure it's kept tidy and beautiful. Plant beautiful flowers full of color and keep your pathways neat and free from obstructions. The back garden represents two things, wealth and health for those that dwell in the home, so it's important to keep this area in good condition. Make sure any fences, boundaries, or walls are well maintained as this provides support for those who live there.
