Have you ever felt like no matter how much you sleep, you're always tired? While life always has a tendency to get in the way and we are sleeping less and less, sometimes it's less to do with how much sleep you get and more to do with your mental state. This tends to happen when no matter how much you sleep or how much time you carve out for yourself, you are constantly plagued with this sense of exhaustion.
Anxiety
This is something that actually happens to me a lot and one of the biggest reasons is anxiety. When you have a sense of anxiety, either because of something imminent or something that is currently happening, your mind doesn't really get a chance to rest. Your body might be sleeping but your brain is going over all the possible ways things could go wrong. That means that it never really got a chance to reboot and empty all the toxins it's supposed to do when you sleep. It can also make it so that you feel you have something to prove, overworking yourself, leading to even more exhaustion.
Obsessions over the past
If you keep putting that same moment on replay over and over again in your mind, you're not resting. These are the moments where you need to take a breath and let the past stay in the past. Hindsight always has 20/20 vision. Obsession over past mistakes is not healthy.
But obsessions over the past don't necessarily have to be negative. They can also be your way of living in the past which is just as unhealthy. While looking back to be proud of yourself or remember the good moments is fine, obsessing over it might be a sign that you are unhappy right now. Maybe it's time to take a look at the life you're living now and see if something needs to be changed.
Your always tired
No matter how much you rest or how many hours a night you sleep, you wake up exhausted. This means you probably need to change something in your routine. You're not resting properly. Maybe you should look into your diet, exercise, or just need to take your vitamins more regularly.
If you're feeling like you have never really recuperated from the stress of life, it's probably time to rethink where you are. Check-in on yourself. You might be emotionally drained and just need some time for you. Maybe you need to remind yourself what your core values are and where you stand. Sometimes it's your body's way of telling you that it's done and it's time to move on. Whatever it might be, listen to your body.
