I'm sure we have all been there, you meet someone you're interested in and find out what their star sign in, you go and check it against yours and it says you're not really all that compatible. This is difficult because when you get caught up in believing zodiacs to the letter, it can be quite detrimental to your love life.

I am a bit of a believer in star signs, but the problem with this is that some people get a little too carried away, they start believing them to the letter and get to the point of being obsessed with everything they have read. Some people may take what they learn in their star sign matches and think that they couldn't possibly get along with this other person because of what the star sign says.

When you read these, have fun. There really isn't anything wrong with reading them. You can maybe even get a little insight as to why a person may behave the way they do, but really it should stop there. Just because you are reading something that someone has written about whether you are compatible with someone else doesn't mean that it is actually going to be like that.

When it comes to dating you need to take control of yourself, who you choose to date is actually your decision. If you start basing your decisions on star signs then you could start to avoid dating people who could actually be the best match for you, this is why taking it so seriously can be quite dangerous to your love life.

There are so many people out there who will put dates on hold so they can see if their dates star sign is compatible with their own, yes I actually know someone who has done this. It ends up being a huge mistake because, by the time they realize what they are doing, the other person may have already moved on.

If you free yourself from studying the stars so strictly, then you will open up your love life in a way that you didn't think was possible, it will also give you an understanding that you are in charge of your own destiny, it's so empowering and allows you to have a much more optimistic approach when it comes to seeking out your potential dates.

In my experience, it's always helped me to understand a bit more about the person's personality but some people can surprise you…I for one am really nothing like my star sign says so who is to say that my potential partner is exactly like theirs?
