There's currently another game based on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in development. Notably, Bioware is not behind the project.
Bioware is the creator of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game. An unknown studio is creating a new game.
A Star Wars insider shared the news. Even after the insider did some digging, they could not determine the studio working on the game.
They could, however, confirm that EA was not creating the game and that nobody could "ever guess" the identity of the studio making the game.
So far, no studio has come forward to claim that it is working on a game based on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
In all likelihood, Lucasfilm Games has partnered with a publisher that does not have a Star Wars license we know about.
Electronic Arts had the license to make the games based on a galaxy far away. The license was eventually revoked, which means other publishers had a chance to get into a contract with Lucasfilm Games.
Clearly, fans of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are in luck because, if the rumor turns out to be accurate, there will be a remake of the original game.
According to rumors, the game will offer many actions and combat experiences drawn from God of War and Nioh. Nonetheless, the game will also allow players to switch to the original game.
So far, it is not clear if this game will be anything like Bioware's version.
On top of this new game, there will be other Star Wars games in the future. For instance, after several years of delays, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will finally debut on April 5.
Additionally, the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is expected to be announced later in the year.
Meanwhile, Quantic Dream, a studio currently in the middle of a very public harassment investigation, is also working on Star Wars: Eclipse.
The game is not expected to be launched until 2026 because of production challenges.
