Santa made an in-person visit so that every child, even those in hospitals, to tell him what they want for Christmas. And this time, he went above and beyond.
There's a good reason why Christmas time is probably the most popular and celebrated holiday of them all. Each year, it provides the world with magic, happiness, and joy.
Most often, Christmas time brings out the best in people, inspiring a renewed faith and the desire to do good for others. It also brings people together, no matter where they are.
For children bedridden in hospitals, that is no easy task. Having a daughter or son in the hospital during Christmas must be a painful experience. That's why dads and moms at one hospital in Texas were quite surprised when Santa showed up.
Man with a big beard visited sick children and spent a fun moment with them in the ward, hoping to cheer up their spirits and distract them from their illnesses, at least for a while.
Of course, no one at the hospital knew this particular Santa has more to offer to the kids. He not only brought gifts for the kids but also brought prayers.
After leaving the little ones, Mariana Whitley Tumlinson, the director at the hospital, captured Santa in a moment of prayer. He was in his Santa coat, on his knees, praying just below a framed picture of Jesus.
She took a picture of this moment and shared her thoughts on social media. She wrote on Facebook:
"I keep getting choked up with this photo. Today, after Santa visited our patients and was on his way out, he noticed our Chapel."
"He asked if he could go in and pray for the kids he just visited. I, of course, said yes. I didn't walk In with him right away, but when I did, I was so moved by this image I had to capture it."
"What a great reminder of the reason for the season. #reasonfortheseason #myfavoritesanta"
Apparently, after Santa visited the kids, he decided to get onto his knees and prayed to Jesus for them, too.
Mariana's post was a viral success. The photo of this special moment received over 19,000 shares and hundreds of comments from those who were inspired by it.
What a beautiful reminder of the true reason for the Christmas season — Jesus Christ! Let's always pray for kids in need of healing and strength for their families to stay encouraged.
