The well-known adult film star, Riley Reid, has recently revealed the reasons behind her decision to discontinue shooting particular categories of pornographic material.

While she hasn't completely withdrawn from the entertainment business, she has chosen not to participate in the explicit scenes that many contend were instrumental in her rise to fame during the 2010s.

When discussing her abrupt career shift, Reid disclosed the specific factors that prompted her decision to cease performing in adult films that feature heterosexual content.

On an installment of Jordyn Jones' podcast, "What They Don't Tell You," Riley Reid talked about elements of her private life, such as her romantic involvements and the challenges of managing relationships while being employed in the adult entertainment sector.

Reid clarified when inquired if she had ever had any boyfriends by saying: "Dating was really hard," before explaining that the hardest part was the 'persona' prospective partners had of her."

Reid proceeded to underscore the challenges she faces in discovering romantic connections as a result of her profession: "Especially as I grew a name for myself, it was hard to meet someone who [didn't] know who I was."

"And so," she continued, "there was always that, like, fandom."

Eager to differentiate between her professional moniker Riley Reid and her off-screen persona Ashley Matthews, she appended: "They met me first in their mind as Riley, so it was really hard to like reverse and teach them that I'm Ashley."

When discussing the discrimination she's encountered while pursuing romantic relationships, Reid stated: "Being a pornstar - it's like 'You don't take her to meet your mom' and blah, blah, blah."

During a prior interview, Riley Reid revealed that she had encountered sentiments of humiliation and revulsion from a former partner on account of her occupation.

During her appearance on the Impaulsive podcast in 2018, Reid recounted how one of her previous partners declined to kiss her when she came back home from her job.

Revealing how her former partner made her feel like a "repulsive individual," she clarified:

Continuing her elaboration during the Jordyn Jones podcast, Reid declared: "He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff."

"So, like, [it] made me feel like a disgusting person," she continued. "And I'm not disgusting! It's harsh. It was so horrible when he told me that."

She went on to explain: "I didn't retire but I just stopped shooting boy-girl porn."

"It was a choice I made on my own but I made that choice because I was lonely and I wanted love and affection and stuff," she explained.

Reid disclosed that locating such elements while working is implausible, which is why she chose to abstain from such scenes entirely, adding that it created difficulties in forming romantic relationships.

"I've dated guys that were like 'Me or porn?' and I was like, 'porn never gave me this ultimatum, so I choose that.'" she concluded.

Riley Reid has subsequently discovered contentment in her union with Pasha Petkuns, a free runner, and they have welcomed a daughter named Emma into their lives.

Reid has been candid about her romance with her supporters, expressing her appreciation for having Petkuns as her companion in a heartfelt message shared on Instagram.

Composing another homage to their relationship, Reid scribed: "Forever thankful for my newly founded family. I love you and appreciate you endlessly."

"You're such an amazing husband to me and even better father to Emma. You're so present in every moment with both of us and I am so happy to spend everyday with you," she praised.

Reid concluded the post with the following statement: "Thank you for choosing me as your wife, best friend & life partner. Thank you Emma for being the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I adore and love you more than you'll ever know."
