realism tattoo artists

There are so many different tattoo designs and techniques. Today we are focusing on realism tattoos and artists. Realism is a technique that makes the tattoo look like a real-life 3D object.

The following artists are truly talented and bring the tattoos to life. If you are a realism tattoo fan, you would surely be impressed with the following tattoos and the artists who created them.

Matt Jordan

Matt Jordan is one of the best realism tattoo artists in New Zealand. He is one of the three co-owners of the Ship Shape Tattoo studio. Matt has been doing tattoos for about 16 years. He enjoys doing large tattoos in black and white. He says he creates these pieces with images that come from his mind.

Here are a few photos of his work:

Pretty nice, right? Here are some words from someone who went on vacation in New Zealand, and got tattooed by Matt himself:

"I had such a great experience with Matt and all the guys at Ship Shape. Being in there with all these great artists creating epic tattoos at once was brilliant and I'm looking forward to getting it finished later this year."

"Couldn't recommend Matt enough! Such a nice guy and a pleasure to get work from."

Niki Norberg

Niki Norberg arranges the Gothenburg International Ink Festival (goth ink fest). He has been tattooing since 2001, and in 2007, he joined Heidi Hay to work side by side. In 2012, Niki moved to Carl Lofqvist's reputed Wicked Tattoo studio in Sweden to work with high levels of realism.

Do you think these artists you've seen so far are good? Just wait until you see what more we have in store for you.

Steve Butcher

Steve was fascinated by art from an early age. He got his early inspiration from old classics like Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z.

As a teenager, Steve decided to further extend his knowledge of art by attending Whitecliffe's College of Art in New Zealand. And when he finally got his Bachelor's degree in fine arts, he decided to give tattooing ago. And it worked out just fantastic for him.

Today, Steve continues to improve his artistry skills to the point where he can do hyper-realism. These tattoos seriously look like if they were just printed on. Perfectly!

Nikko Hurtado

Nikko Hurtado is an American tattoo artist. He grew up drawing cartoon figures and characters. He and his friend Mike both took classes at the Art Center of Pasadena. Sadly after a few years, Nikko gave up art and decided to work in construction.

In 2002, Nikko went to see how his friend Mike was doing, who was working at Art Junkies Tattoo Studio in Hesperia. Mike then offered Nikko an apprenticeship, and he got into art and tattooing again.

Niko said:

"I had always wanted to do art for a living, and I am so happy it happened organically. It's like tattooing chose me."

Nikko had done work on many celebrities like Dwayne 'the rock' Johnson, Kat Von D, Drake, and many more.

I will seriously travel the world to meet these people and let them do some work on me. How about you? It's inspiring to see people like these whose dreams came true and who do fantastic work!
