Younger people are being encouraged to exercise caution before undergoing "irreversible" modifications by a woman who now owns the record for having the most bodily modifications.
Maria José Cristerna from Mexico has 49 different body modifications in total, including implants in her forehead and arms, piercings, and a split tongue.
The Mexican has the reputation of looking like a "real-life vampire" since 99% of her body is covered with tattoos.
However, after receiving the official title of having the most body modifications in the world, the tattoo enthusiast cautioned others against following in her footsteps in a video posted to the Guinness World Records YouTube channel.
As it is irreversible, she advised, "the counsel I would give is that you have to think about it a lot."
"I love my look, but you must realize that some young people are quite receptive to tattoos, piercings, and other body modifications."
"We could reach a point when it's no longer what we want, and we don't like it anymore since it's become fashionable."
"To love and be able to defend it for the rest of your life, you must give it a lot of thought."
Despite this, Maria acknowledged that she would keep enjoying changing the way she looked, saying, "If I feel well and my health permits it, I'll keep doing it."
The so-called "vampire woman" said that she began her path of modification at 14 and gave the Guinness World Records cameras a tour of her drastically transformed appearance during the video.
After describing how she got her first tattoo and how "99%" of her body is now covered, Maria describes which upgrades had been the most painful.
According to the woman, one of the most painful modifications was the implants in her arms and the tattoos on her eyes.
