A railway worker assisted a raccoon whose testicles were stuck to a frozen railway line.

The raccoon appears embarrassed about its predicament, but there is a positive outcome to the situation.

Workers came to the raccoon's rescue, freeing it from its predicament before it could be harmed by the cold or a passing train.

The raccoon had been on the metal railway line for too long, causing his testicles to freeze to it due to the low temperatures.

It's a similar situation to when someone in a cartoon foolishly licks an icy pole and gets their tongue stuck, but much more severe.

35-year-old Neil Mullis came to the rescue of the raccoon, using warm water to unfreeze its testicles and release it. The raccoon then quickly left, leaving some hair behind on the railway.

Although the raccoon may have been traumatized, it ultimately survived the experience and will live on.

Neil, from Georgia, stated:

"I poured the warm water under his bottom while a co-worker worked the shovel under his butt to try and break him loose.

"After about five minutes of slowly working him loose, he was free.

"He jumped off the rail and ran in the woods, never looking back."

It remains unclear how the raccoon became stuck in that position.

Neil and his colleagues are uncertain as to how it occurred.

The only known factor is that it was extremely cold.

Neil added: "I'm guessing because it was -12 degrees outside somehow, he was crossing over the rail and sat too long and got stuck!"

In the video, Neil can be heard saying as the raccoon was freed: "Operation well performed. Little fella is safe now."

The video was recorded on December 19, 2022, and it was quite chilly during that period.

In fact, with much of the USA experiencing extremely cold temperatures, this unfortunate raccoon was likely not the only creature struggling in the cold.
