Powerful Ways To Detox Your Soul Kate Masters Published in Dec 2018 / Updated in Aug 2021 Everything in this world seems to be a race against time. We chase the clock constantly, getting to work, at work, getting the kids to school, picking kids up from school. Rushed breakfast or no breakfast, junk food lunches, take-out dinners. We are constantly filling our lives with toxins physically and spiritually. Time for a detox, and here’s a few ideas on how to do that. CLEAR OUT CLUTTER By the end of the day, our minds are full of so much clutter we can hardly think. That feeds over to our living conditions. Piles of magazines we keep meaning to recycle. Countertops are full of so much clutter, books, kids’ gym bags, piles of paperwork and we wonder why take-out food seems so appealing when we don’t even have space to cook. Have a clear out, be brutal. You’ll be amazed at how much better you feel once it’s done. GO OUT IN THE SUN OR WINTER DAYLIGHT You need sunlight. It’s a natural source of Vitamin D and is a natural antidepressant. Slap on the sun cream and go for a walk. Feel the heat soothe your body and soul. Winter, wrap up warm and walk in the daylight hours, clear your mind. EXERCISE Hit the gym, no time for the gym, clean the house after all cleaning is one hell of a work out right ladies? Exercise lifts our energy levels up and battles any stress we may be feeling. Got kids, get them involved too, get them putting the toys away. Yes, it will be a battle of wills to start with, but making it fun will be good for your soul and theirs too. TREAT YOURSELF Have a spa day. You deserve it. Can’t afford it, then have one at home, invite a few friends over and let the face packing commence. Don’t forget that wine and chocolates are always a great way to indulge yourself. TAKE A BREAK FROM TECHNOLOGY Put that phone down, even better if you can turn it off. Power down the ipad. Turn off the laptop. Go old school. DO SOMETHING YOU LOVE No matter how small, if you love it do it. Read a book. Watch a movie. Have that 4-hour bubble bath you keep promising yourself. Get a babysitter and have some adult time. Be good to you. After all, you are the heartbeat of the family.
