Ron Jeremy, a former adult film actor, was declared incompetent to stand trial on multiple counts of rape and sexual assault and was subsequently sent to a state psychiatric hospital.
The District Attorney's Office stated that Jeremy, who is 69 years old, can be held at the psychiatric hospital for up to two years and a hearing to assess his progress will take place on May 8th.
Ronald Hyatt, also known as Jeremy, has been charged with over 30 counts of sexual abuse against over 20 women, ranging in age from 15 to 51, spanning 23 years.
He has entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.
Last month, Judge Ronald S. Harris of the Los Angeles Superior Court ruled that Jeremy was not competent to participate in his own defense.

Judge Harris stated that Jeremy is suffering from "incurable neurocognitive decline" and medical reports indicate he has dementia, is "incoherent," and has hearing loss.
An email from LA County Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson obtained by The Los Angeles Times stated that mental health experts have determined that Jeremy is experiencing severe dementia.
The email also stated that there is no evidence to suggest that Jeremy is feigning his symptoms.
"As a result of the agreement of the experts, the defendant will be declared incompetent to stand trial," the email allegedly reads.
"His prognosis for improvement is not good."
"If he does not improve, we will not be able to try him for his crimes. Because criminal proceedings are suspended as long as he is incompetent, we also cannot get a guilty plea from him or discuss other measures to get justice for the victims in this case."
At the peak of his career, Jeremy was a prominent figure in the porn industry.
Jeremy was taken into custody in 2020 following allegations of sexual misconduct.

In August 2020, Jeremy took to Twitter to declare his intention to fight the accusations, posting: "I can't wait to prove my innocence in court! Thank you to everyone for all the support."
A victim spoke to The Los Angeles Times and expressed disappointment that the case will no longer proceed to trial.
She said: "They were aware of his condition before getting us all involved."
"They were well aware he had dementia, so I'm very disappointed that they didn't solve that bit before letting us go on that emotional journey for two and a half years."
In an interview with the Mirror, the victim further stated:
"I really can't put it into words how angry I am. I will never get closure."
"He could have been brought to justice much sooner, but Ron was built up to be this king who was untouchable and his lawyers kept delaying the case."
"I felt abused again and like a pawn in a game. It felt like getting hit in the stomach by a 200mph tennis ball."
