A woman has fired back at the critics who accuse her of being a neglectful mom just because of her face tattoo.

At 27, Katie Taylor has been getting tattoos since she turned 18 and decided to get a special one as a lasting reminder of her two-year-old daughter. Despite facing judgment that it makes her a "bad parent," she stands by her choice without any regrets.

Opting for a face tattoo, she wanted it in a visible spot to "constantly see it" and chose a rose as a tribute to her daughter's middle name. The stay-at-home mom invested £80 in the tattoo, positioned to the side of her left ear, and it took about an hour to complete.

Despite trolls labeling Katie as a "bad parent" and a "thug" because of her tattoos, she remains unfazed and shared that her little girl "loves it."

Hailing from Rayleigh, Essex, Katie explained, "I wanted it on my face. I wanted to constantly see it. My daughter's middle name is Rose, so I chose to get that. She said to me, 'that's my tattoo.'"

Expressing her love for the ink, she added, "She loves it. I've had the odd comment on my tattoos like 'You're a bad parent.' I love it."

Katie already boasts around 15 tattoos, forming a sleeve on her right arm and thigh. On November 16, 2023, she decided to expand her collection with a design on her face. Apart from her initial tattoo, a bird design quickly covered up with green roses, Katie insists she has "never regretted" any of her tattoos.

Having always been a fan of tattoos, she acknowledges that the face ink might not be everyone's preference but describes it as "gentle." Although the process wasn't painful for her, she has no plans to get any more tattoos on her face.

The reactions to her ink have been varied, with some expressing love for it and others criticizing her choice. Katie shared, "Some people online have said 'You're a thug', 'you look like you've just got out of prison'. I don't judge someone by the way they look."

For Katie, the opinions that matter most are those of her partner, Jake Kennedy, a 29-year-old business owner, and their daughter. Jake not only supported her decision to get a face tattoo but actively encouraged her to go for it.

Katie shared, "He was the one that said 'If you want it, you go and get it'. My daughter says 'Mum's got lots of drawings on her arms'."

"This tattoo has got to be my favourite so far. I want my daughter to grow up knowing if she wants a tattoo or to do something for herself, she could go and do it. I want to show her that can do what wants in the world."
