A PE teacher has been accused of having sex with a student. Melissa Tweedie, 27, has been banned from the classroom for at least two years since she showed "limited remorse" during the investigation of the alleged incident.
Her behavior was branded as "inappropriate." It was judged to be "unfit" to teach as she was engaged in sexual intercourse with a pupil at the hotel after a school leavers' night at SWG3 in June 2017.
At the time of the alleged affair, Melissa was 23, and the student was 18. Though the two were found in bed together, the panel found that allegations of sexual misconduct are unproven.
The former teacher was photographed dancing and misbehaving during the prom night in question. The student named Pupil A drank various alcoholic beverages on the prom night and provided evidence that the two had intercourse.
It appears that it was insufficient, as the teacher was banned, but further consequences are implausible.
Pupil A's testimony

The student claims that he consumed 3 to 4 pints, a wine bottle, spirits, rum, and shots at the prom. According to some students, Miss Melissa also did shots with them.
He claimed that the PE teacher spent the night in a hotel room with him. She left before him in the morning hours.
Speaking at the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) hearing, Pupil A said:
"We had no dealings prior to the prom. There were no relations before. Miss Tweedie was sat at our table. Miss Tweedie was not drinking at the table, I was."
Pupil A alleged he did not invite the teacher to the hotel, adding:
"I don't know how she got there."
He also stated that he entered the room at Premier Inn, where he found nine other students and Miss Tweedie. There was a noise complaint, so the others left, and the two were alone. The Pupil A stated:
"We kissed, no one initiated it. We went downstairs and had sex in my room."

He added:
"I feel really sorry for Miss Tweedie, I had already handed in my leavers form."
"In my eyes, it wasn't a student event. This could have happened on a night out."
Pupil A added on the hearing that he had a lot to drink since it was his prom. He continued:
"In my eyes this was an issue involving only two parties. This wasn't an issue raised by any party. When do I get to raise my feelings about what happened?"
He also said:
"In my eyes it was not an issue I wanted to raise. It was an issue that people wanted to raise for me. I have never been asked how I feel about it."
The allegations from GTCS

Though Miss Tweenie was not at the hearing, GTCS read their statement:
"Between 7 June 2017 and 8 June 2017, whilst employed by Renfrewshire Council as a PE Teacher at Gleniffer High School, at the senior prom and immediately thereafter, you danced inappropriately with pupils during the prom, including making inappropriate physical contact whilst dancing with them at SWG3, Glasgow."
"You kissed Pupil A at the hotel in which pupils were staying for the night, the Premier Inn Hotel, and engaged in sexual intercourse with Pupil A after the prom, at the Premier Inn."

The hearing will continue, but the police work is done, confirming no criminal act had taken place.
Allegedly, Miss Tweenie asked her students for shots and not to act as if she was their teacher. It remains unclear how the authorities came to the information about the alleged act.
